Battlestar Galactica and the incessant bubble invading

I finally started the new Battlestar Galactica, and am having a hard time putting up with all of the bubble invading going on. Number Six is always half an inch from Gaius' face, and it's irritating the hell out of me. Does this let off during the rest of the series? I'm having a hard time finding anything online that can tell me one way or the other, and it's enough to keep me from watching any more episodes.

Stay out of my bubble.

Crap, I was afraid of that. I don't want to give up altogether, so I may just space out the series a bit, interspersing something else between each season for some much needed breathing room. For a show that takes place in the vast reaches of all space, they don't seem to utilize much of it.

That's the beauty of it. They're stranded, so it should feel claustrophobic. This show is amazing though, easily my favorite show of all-time!

So now people are making up totally fucking trivial reasons to not like an amazing show? "Bubble invading"? Christ almighty.. -ohbfrank-

I never thought that there were enough animals on the show. They needed an elephant, or at least a zebra, to make the show more realistic.

Don't give up on it just yet. While that's pretty much the way this series was filmed, I think it evens out the more you get into it. The thing about the new BSG that you have to realize is that it's created in storyline arcs. You've got really BAD storyline arcs and really GOOD storyline arcs. So sometimes you just have to suffer through a handful of really bad episodes to get to the really great ones.

Yeah, if you're going to trash it, have a good reason -- like the way the show goes off the rails at the end of season 2, and, despite a few good episodes later on, never recovers, subjecting the viewer to way too many pointless episodes that don't advance the plot and instead focus on soapy storylines before culminating in a wall-banger finale.

+2 (or is it 3?)

a pretty ridiculous reason to not like a show.

I blame the inclusion of the Ewoks and Starbuck "shooting first". I might as well cut to the chase and just make up reasons to hate the show.

I did find this aspect of the show the most annoying thing about an otherwise great first 3 seasons. The irony is that they did far less of it during the subpar final season.

So, I'm thinking of watching this show, but it seems to be in outer space? Are they always in outer space? Because if they're always in outer space, I don't think I can watch it.

Also, dialogue bothers me. I hope the show is silent.

I paid too much for my color TV to watch a show in black & white.

Re: Battlestar Galactica and the incessant bubble invading

Say what you will, and you're welcome to your opinion, but watching several episodes back to back over the course of a week or so, it's irritating the hell out of me. I don't mind hearing someone say "like" once in a while, but if I'm around teenage girls who say it 30 times in the course of 10 minutes, it drives me nuts.

Which is why I said I would continue watching the show, as I like the characters, plots, everything else, but I would space the episodes out with something else. I realize it's rather petty, but it is something I don't appreciate in my real life, and it isn't much better on television.

"bubble invading"? Didn't know what that meant until I read the post. I thought it had to do w/ all the popups and credits invading the bottom of the screen for half the show.

while I understand not wanting someone to get within your personal space in real life, I can't grasp seeing it happen to other people on tv being an issue
