I never realized that MIKE EVANS (creator of "Good Times") was "Lionel Jefferson"

I've watched both All In The Family, The Jeffersons, and Good Times growing up, and today. I "knew" that Lionel Jefferson was played by Mike Evans, and even thought I saw the name "Mike Evans" in the Good Times credits, I never made the connection.

"Michael Evans," the youngest child of the James and Florida Evans family, is named after Mike Evans, who did create the show - and is supposedly based on how he himself grew up. That's why Mike Evans left The Jeffersons, and was replaced by that other guy (the fake "Lionel"), because he was too busy with Good Times, not because he had any problems with The Jeffersons.

Heard he died a few years back - cancer. He was only in his 50's.
