The Amazing Race 16 -- "You're Like Jason Bourne, Right?" -- 04/04/10

The Amazing Race 16

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
The teams travel from Seychelles to Malaysia, where they must choose between a 153-step climb or balancing a traditional Chingay flagpole on their heads to receive a clue.

The race continues tonight in Malaysia. The funny thing is I was just there 2 weeks ago on vacation.

No basketball today and LPGA golf starts early at 3pm ET. So I think you should be safe tonight without padding. Women's golf hardly ever runs long.

Way to go, Allie. Really good effort you showed there on the pole balancing.

Ugh! Too bad those cheesy models didn't come in last. I cannot stand them. Go Cowboys!

So who was eliminated. I missed the last 10 min or so. I assume it was Allie and Steve.

Would have been nice if Jeff and Jordan got a bunch up in the 2 eps where they were way behind and the 1 with a speed bump. I'd rather see them in the race than the models.

Team Cowboys or bust! Who else is there to root for?

Thought one of them might have made a Brokeback joke when Phil told them about the romantic dinner that came with the trip.

I laughed at that part too, but does Phil really say all that stuff to them? I thought it was just the narration that came with the clip.

That was an impressive leg by the Cowboys. To go from last, have to do the speed bump, and still blow the other teams out of the water like that was fun to watch.

Brent & Katie have to be running out of luck sooner or later because they have one colossal fuck up per episode.

Though judging by the scene this week and the previews for next week
Spoiler:
I'm guessing they U-Turn the Lesbians

I always thought he sort of summed it up for them and, like you said, that they added the narration to be more specific after the show. It still seemed so funny at the time, I'd like to believe Phil mentioned the romantic dinner when they were there.

Phil "seemed" kind of not as fun this season to me, but he was much more playful at this pitstop.

Glad to see the cowboys back in the race. They really seemed to focus while still being really supportive of each other.

That's what I'm guessing. If they do, I hope the lesbians still beat them. I cannot stand the models. I'm not a huge fan of the lesbians (too much "Type A" personality) but I like them better than the models.

Allie's going to get home, see the footage of the Cowboy's doing the flag challenge in about 10 minutes and kick herself for the rest of her life. She was mentally beat by that challenge just looking at it, and it cost them the race.

It looked far harder than it actually was. I wasn't surprised that most of the teams opted for the other challenge.

The finish order was the exact reversal of last week's order.

Plus, the cowboys have experience in tasks requiring odd physical coordination while everyone else might be experienced on a treadmill

I think they were my favorite team this season. Here's an interesting article on how they viewed their elimination. They said their key error was switching detours. From my perspective, it was burning a lot of energy running to the temple which probably made balancing the flags more difficult and drained their energy reserves at the temple challenge.

Noticed that too, showed how fast this race can turn.

I wasn't a big fan of the models at first but they've grown on me over the last few legs. Behing the cowboys, they are the team im rooting for most now.

How many more legs in the race do we have? 3?

Re: The Amazing Race 16 -- "You're Like Jason Bourne, Right?" -- 04/04/10

There are 4 legs left, and 5 teams, so we're going to have either 1 more non-elimination leg, or a continuation leg. Most likely a non-elimination, since we've only had 2 so far, and there are usually 3.

Edit:
Spoiler:
Actually, based on the location information posted to Wikipedia, I'm guessing it's a continuation leg in Shanghai, since they stay there for 2 episodes.
