Not going to be able to watch until tomorrow night, but I'm excited. Chuck has been gaining steam since it came back and hopefully is planning to keep that up! I do hope we get some resolution to this Shaw storyline though, because I can't take more eeks on end of this Shaw/Sarah thing - it's just so unbelievable.

When Shaw started smiling during Chuck's beating up of the bad guys in the sauna, all I could think about was his character from "Zack and Miri Make a Porno".

So we finally had our Subway episode. Blatant, but not terrible.
I'm so glad Chuck didn't go through with it. They can't make Chuck a killer.

I was expecting Sarah to kill him and say Chuck did it, but Casey showing up to do it was a nice twist.

Did anyone else's version not have sound? I recorded it on the DVR and just sat down to watch the HD version and it had no sound. I fast forwarded about 20 mins in and still no sound.
Guess I'll have to wait til it's on nbc.com tomorrow.

That wasnt Shaw's wife that Sarah killed was it? Seems like the kind of curve ball shows like this like to throw at us. I cant remember back to when Shaw was talking about his wife's death to have any idea of when it might have happened.

Aww, it was so touching.
I was kind of irritated because I just knew, from the very beginning, that they'd come up with some way to wuss out on Chuck actually having to pull a trigger on somebody. If you're going to set it up so the guy is pulling a piece out at that moment, how exactly is it at all morally suspect at that point to shoot the guy? And murder? I figured Sarah was gonna save the day again, but it makes sense after the season of build up that someone else would do it and she'd mistakenly get all pissy about it.
Does the presence of a Subway mean Lou is out of business? Bastards.
Is "Billionaire Industrialist" really going to fly as a cover with Chuck's sister? I thought clandestine was supposed to entail being inconspicuous.

Episode was exciting. Now that they've hinted at where it is headed, I'm very excited to see what is going to happen!

Keep buying Subways and keep getting people to watch - ratings for last night were still low - 5.4 million overall, 1.9m in 18-49 group.

I can't help but wonder how much better Sarah would look in higher quality HD than the show offers.

I knew watching the promo for the show that he wouldn't do it. They'll never let Chuck turn killer.

I'm still getting used to these new story arcs. The appeal to me was the loveable loser that uses his brain to get out of trouble and lets Casey and Sara use their bodies and weapons. Casey being a civilian is lame. I can see the point with last nights episode but they have to get him back in to action. They also have to come up with new stuff for Buy More. Morgan now knows the secret and The Jeffster stuff is getting tiresome. No Ellie and Awesome to sneak around and hide from either. Things can't stay the same but I don't want them to lose the charm that drew me to the show in the first place

However, i disagree on your Buy More comment! Casey's storyline there directly paralleled Chuck's! Big Mike and Big Government both thought they could change their respective targets by putting some new duds and label on them. Not so fast my friend!
So Sarah was legitimately asking him out on a date?! Before we saw her have the mission discussion with Shaw it seemed like there was another reason for her asking. Chuck was happy, while she wasn't...?
I do agree that this was one of the darkest episodes. However, I think that added some edge and suspense. I honestly didn't know what was going to happen next when Chuck entered the bathroom. It really echoed the opening scene from Casino Royale on several levels.
It looks like I'm probably wrong, but my jaw was on the floor when Sarah was telling her "Red Test" story. I was expecting Shaw to finish the story and her turn around with a puzzled face. We'd then learn that it was his wife that Sarah had killed "mistakenly" despite being given the picture as contact information. I suppose that would be cliche, but I was scared enough with Shaw sitting on that bed with Sarah!
Damn cliffhanger! Chuck isn't supposed to do that!!

Seemed obvious Casey was going to do it, especially after the "government gun" gift ... my question is ... has Chuck been watching Casey and Sarah? How does he consistently assume that, once he moves from intersect to full-blown spy, that he'd be kill-free?

I'm beginning to wonder about Shaw:
I know that's far out from what we know about the character, but anything seems game right now. I only base this on the idea of the storyline of Chuck's father - seemed to be a deadbeat crackpot, when all along his motive was to protect Chuck and Ellie from being affected by his life.
