Even Boondocks Saints 2 is more enjoyable than what I fear this season to end up like.

So we have a new CTU mole on the same day that the two random new CTU field agents display a complete lack of balls. They should have just let Chloe run operations from Buchanon's hideout.

i don't have alot of hope for the remainding episodes...

and btw, why are all these people so hardheaded when a veteran like Jack tells them to do something... dude panicked behind the armor and got himself killed and the dumb rookie trying to save a dead man

and Jack is such a bad influence... cmon' Chloe even pulling a "Jack-move" on that NSA guy

Rene apparently went from unstable girl back to a badass like last season..wow who been writing this seasons scripts

I just don't understand what the writers were thinking when they wrote her character and storyline. I can suspend disbelief for 24, but how is it that Jenny was able to get a highly classified government job using the alias Dana Walsh, and what's more, how is it that they haven't discovered she is a terrorist yet? Why do they bring in the rednecks and do that entire storyline and have the parole officer show up, only to have no resolution whatsoever as far as that concerned? As far as I can tell, the parole officer wasn't going to blow her cover as a mole, but was just going to expose the fact she helped Kevin rob the police storage facility.

But after all of that, she is a mole? When did she have any time to help the terrorists? Between running around helping the rednecks commit a robbery and sort of doing her job, I don't see how she could have been helping them at all.

---

On the good side of things, we got to see Jack, Cole, Chloe, and Renee in action. Those four are great. Hastings is great now as well. Everyone else I could care less about.
Agree with everything here.

Just a couple days ago I was talking about how it's no big deal that 24 recycles ideas, but COME ON!!!

Recycling certain things isn't a huge deal to me, but ANOTHER mole in CTU?!?! I mean if that had never been done before in the history of the show it would have been frickin brilliant, but unfortunately they blew their load with that twist 9 years ago in season 1.

I can't believe I'm even going to say this, but I was actually kinda interested in where the "Jenny from the block" storyline was going to go. Her being a mole didn't even remotely enter my mind. I was racking my brain trying to figure out where the writers could possibly take that storyline and was truly interested in how she was going to handle Milton and just where the whole thing was going to go. It never dawned on me that they'd come up with something as stupid as making her a mole. Unbelievable.

I just liked that they mostly focused on Jack and Chloe.

I don't buy Dana as a mole (redneck would have been dead in one ep if she was such a badass) but it's sadly better than what they had as a subplot before.

Yeah. I forgot about that. WTF? She just killed an innocent parole officer in cold blood and "hid" him in a wall in a federal building. Why on Earth wouldn't she just have shot redneck 1 and redneck 2 in her apartment? Problem solved.

The whole redneck subplot ONLY worked if she really was just a scared girl trying whatever she could do to make the bad redneck ex boyfriend leave her alone so she could live her life in peace. It was stupid but I could buy that. People make small mistakes that mushroom into huge catastrophes all the time. But since she's supposedly a badass terrorist that will kill in cold blood, what was the point of her sneaking around and orchestrating that robbery and leaving CTU to go meet those guys at her apartment and so on? That would only work if she was trying to do the "right" thing. If she's a bad terrorist all she had to do was kill them outright and everything would have been over.

Just finished watching and...

OH C'MON NOW. REALLY? THIS is your idea of a great twist?! Dana is a mole?! So she went through all the trouble helping a couple idiots steal cash from a high security warehouse for...nothing? Because she could have just off'd them when they were at her house? It'll be VERY interesting to see where they go with this storyline--a mole in CTU?! Whodathunkit?

THANK GOD CTU has large removable panels in their holding rooms with enough empty space behind them to stuff dead guys.

Nice job, CHLOE, pulling a gun on an NSA guy. You'd be off to prison tomorrow, I don't care if you did restore the power. No way you're stable enough for CTU. Then again, Dana proves that they don't work real hard on their background checks.

And Renee is now stable and tough stuff? And she can find Jack in 10 minutes and CTU can't find him until power is restored?

And who trains CTU field ops? They can't handle being under fire?

Why in the world am I watching this show?!

Bandoman is right. This is just insulting the viewer. I was willing to forgive everything until that last 2 minutes. That's just insane.

Parole dude should have gone for a boob grab while struggling for his life, at least that would have been entertaining.

What? Did you watch the same episode as the rest of us?

First, last week Stephen Root is 30 minutes outside of NY at 3 in the morning coincidentally right after Kevin and his crony got buried? Lame.

Second, Kyla Hassan is discharged from medical 5 minutes after the EMP goes off?

Third, the terrorists know who Jack Bauer is when earlier in the day CTU employees didn't even know?

Fourth, red shirt not listening to Jack, twice!

Fifth, NSA getting to CTU 20 minutes after the EMP goes off?

Six, Dana Walsh a mole? Come on.

Believe it or not, the highlight was actually Hastings siding with Chloe for a change. I was disappointed earlier in the week that 24 wouldn't be back next year, but man, if this is the best they have to offer, maybe it's time to give Jack a send off this year.

It wouldn't be 24 without a mole in CTU!

seriously, the fact checking on this show is absurd. Kevin was on parole, but they are calling that guy a probation officer. the dude is tracking someone over state lines, where he has no jurisdiction.

i'm glad this show is done this year because the writing has completely gone into the shitter.

Wash. Rinse Repeat. 24 has been so predictable this season, am surprised I did not see this coming.

I was hoping they were going to have Stephen Root walk by somebody's desk and say "hey that's a nice stapler"

Would have at least made it worth watching

Cole must be a bad ass, because he and Jack did not have on any thing but vest, but the red shirts are in head to toe in kevlar and anything that might protect them and they are dead.
Anybody else think that Jenny from the block walks like a Cylone

Classic 24. Gotta love it!

Enjoyed the Bauer shootout, which I was glad lasted the whole episode. Damn redshirt Owen. Thought the writers would allow him to learn from Bauer.

Gotta love Chloe too. I was dying for a Chloe episode. I missed her Chloe-isms.

And the ending was the standard WTF moment. And not WTF like I was shocked, but WTF - again?!

But like I said, classic 24. I can't hate it.

Threat, Bauer Shootout, Chloe quirkiness, and a mole = 24

Regarding the terrorists knowing who Jack was, it was Tarrin who identified him. Not completely off the wall that he'd remember a guy from a few hours earlier.

It's not that he recognised Jack. It's how he went on a mini-speech about Jack being a former CTU agent and the best agent they had. I half expected him to pull out Jack's resume out of his pocket. And yet most folks at CTU never heard of Jack Bauer.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- "4:00am to 5:00am" -- 03/22/10

Okay, I'm not going to go on an angry rant like some of you about the flaws with this episode.

Did it have problems logic wise? Yes. Epecially at the end when NYPD backup came at the scene barely 2 minutes after Cole made the call.

Was the Chloe thing ridiculous? Yes, but the same could have been said about Season 4 when she went all Rambo and people loved it. She did say that Hastings hired her because she thought outside the box. In the real world, she would be led off in handcuffs, but hell this is a television show.

Was the Dana Walsh reveal ridiculous? Of course. Hell, the dude from Entourage and Ever Carradine were FBI moles last season, so why stop now?

But, was the episode entertaining? Yes and that's all that mattered to me. The shootout at the dock was solid. It sucked seeing Agent Owen bite the dust. Also, it was good to see badass Renee back in action. Although, I do agree that her having her "Game-Face" on after being mentally unstable a few hours earlier was absurd.

^^ Yeah I do think that Tarin pulling out Jack's mini resume was weird.

I read a spoiler on a 24 site that:

Spoiler:

Jack will be involved in a major shootout against Dana later this season. Probably in hour 20 or 21. Some people said they saw Kiefer and Katee shooting the scene in Downtown LA a couple months ago before Kiefer went down for surgery.

I agree that making Jack, Cole, Renee and Chloe in action was the best part of this episode.

Dana Walsh was already a bad character from the start. I don't know what the heck Howard Gordon and his writers were smoking in the 24 writers room when they created her. At least now, I'm willing to accept her as a villain now just to see someone put a bullet in her.

Remember earlier in the season there was a Russian mole in the NYPD.
