Synopsis: Spoiler:
This is episode 2. Did anyone watch the Pilot last week? Was it even remotely funny? All I know about this show is Tyler Labine from Invasion and Reaper is the lead. If it is funny, I may try it. |

I think it's pretty funny. For what it's worth, two of the kids in that promo picture aren't even in the show; they were recast I think. It's not the best show around, but it has its moments.

Re: Sons of Tucson -- "The Break In" -- 03/21/10
I think comparisons to Malcolm In The Middle are apt, because there is definitely that dynamic of three brothers causing problems, but this show is much less grounded in reality than Malcolm In The Middle was. Whereas Malcolm had some really crazy scenarios, I always felt like there was a very realistic vibe to it and the characters all had depth, grew as the series progressed, and were actual people you might now. I don't think this show has that same depth as far as characters are concerned; the characters here seem more like cartoon caricatures than real people, which is fine.
Here's a quick synopsis about the "family" the show focuses on: -The stand-in dad is basically a low-life, but likable. A scam artist looking to make a quick buck, but seems like he will care about the kids more as the show goes on. -The oldest kid is pretty average, although might have a little bit of a dumb side. He seems nice and more willing to accept the stand-in dad. Seems to be the voice of reason amongst the brothers. -The middle kid is basically in charge of the others and acts as the adult. Definitely an adult in a kid's body type of character, only sometimes he handles a situation like an actual kid would. Kind of a brat and probably the most unlikeable character (through no fault of the actor, but it's just the way the character is written); I suspect he will become more likable with the stand-in dad's influence. -The youngest kid is psychotic. He is truly terrifying. He causes lots of problems and is a sociopath in the making if ever there was one. Hopefully his character starts to behave more normally after having a father figure show some sort of discipline. The kid that was in the picture DJariya originally posted that was going to play the older brother was a total miscast, unless they have since changed the character. But I have seen that kid in thing and there is no way he would have been able to play the character believably. |
