Crucifixion at the end was rough. Seems Roman society and high school have quite a bit in common.

The crucifixion was the least of that guys problems.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he was more worried about the other thing then the crucifixion.

"Should he have issue he can reason with my cock" I'm going to try and work that into a conversation some time.

I actually liked the new guy, too bad they killed him off that quick.

While I know typical Roman Era slave women did not look like they came off the streets of LA and the show is not going for accuracy, the weekly claim of "authenticity" makes me laugh.

Good ep. Shame the main star is having health issues.

Really good episode. I don't think I've ever cringed that much in a TV show before.

To the brutality, or the male nudity?

I wonder if that crucified guy's junk was real or enhanced?

I'm going to venture a guess it was the scene where the Gaul's blood was dripping from where his dick used to be

That was a hardcore ending. Good episode, better than the last 2 imo. Who is Ilithyia's husband?

Is anyone else watching through Netflix streaming to a TV and having screen ratio problems? Last episode played in a window (not filling screen) and this episode played vertically compressed.

Oh...I noticed that area was dripping blood but I thought it was from blood trickling down into the area(I tend to try and ignore any part of the screen that shows male junk). OUCH!!!

I was kind of suprised the guy didn't give up her name, after all you don't survive a crucifiction do you?

Show is much better without Spartacus whining about his wife 24/7

The Roman commander Legatus. He was the one who commanded the unified Thracian/Roman army, and the one who captured Spartacus and his wife as punishmenent for Spartacus' desertion. Thats why Ilithia hates Spartacus so much, she and her Husband blame him for Legatus' embarrasment on the battlefield.

Yeah - last week it seemed like I was playing non-anamorphic DVD, but it was fine this week.

The crucifixion was for attacking Spartacus. As Lucy Lawless put it, the "sawing off of his cock" was to give up the name. I wouldn't be surprised if he did give it up, but they don't really gain anything by telling her they know.

That's how I took it as well. This is similar to how Batiatus is dealing with Solonius regarding the assasination attempt in the Pits.

Unfortunately, I watched that scene in HD. Just a little too much detail ... the blood was more than just "dripping"

Aye, I agree. Didn't Ilithyia also have that moment of utter disbelief when she asked something like "He lives"? That as well would seem to be a give away that she had put him up to it.

I agree that would make more sense, I just thought they would have clued the audience in during the episode, I thought the entire meaningful glance thing meant "hey I didn't tell them"
