I forget the exact lines, but I thought that Batius knew it was her behind the new Gaul's attack on Spartacus even without him confessing the name. Doesn't he refer to her as a demon wearing human skin or something like that?

He and his wife aren't idiots, and I'm pretty sure they know exactly who was behind the attack and why.

Just watched that scene again and you're right, I missed that part. When he sees Iithyia he says "The snake arrives, walking as if human"

I still don't understand why the Gladiators, if they banded together and wanted to escape could easily kill Batiatus, his wife and the few guards. The complex seems reasonable isolated. Might be a few days before they were discovered dead and that would be enough time to get a good head start.

I wonder the same thing. I guess since the guards have real weapons and they just have the wooden stuff that's supposed to be enough?

There's definitely that about quality of weapons but there's also the probability that the live of a slave gladiator is probably better than that of a fugitive. I'm not saying that I'd be thrilled about being a slave in any capacity, but I imagine that in any station of life there is probably a level at which you just try to make the best of the situation that you have. Being a slave gladiator would be better than being a slave servant IMO.

If the show is historically accurate at all...

Spoiler:
Spartacus will lead a slave revolt.

Spartacus has definitely embraced his new role as gladiator - now that his wife is dead. Batiatus had that one called correctly ...

Loved his beat-down of Crixus as a lesson to the new gladiators ...

It seems like only yesterday I was watching Crixus push his intestines back inside his abdomen after his unfortunate clash with the Shadow of Death.

(Actually, it was yesterday - on Netflix streaming. I can do without the male full-frontal nudity, but love those arena fights ...)

The Roman commander Legatus. He was the one who commanded the unified Thracian/Roman army, and the one who captured Spartacus and his wife as punishmenent for Spartacus' desertion. Thats why Ilithia hates Spartacus so much, she and her Husband blame him for Legatus' embarrasment on the battlefield.
I think that she and her husband hate Spartacus because he embarrassed them in front of her father in the arena by defeating all the gladiators.

That was merely the Icing. Spartacus deserting him on the battlefield, killing his men, ruining his war campaign and having him return to Rome in shame is undoubtedly the cake.
