I'll be watching a Lost repeat at 8:00 tonight, but I'll try to catch Siobhan Magnus when she sings on AI. None of the others interest me.

with Ellen's ramblings and Kara's babbling, this one is probably going to go over time. Pad according if you want to see the ones toward the end.

I'll give you Ellen's ramblings, but at least Kara knows what she's talking about and is giving constructive music advice.

Back to Ellen. God, ENOUGH with the dress shirts and loose men's ties. It's just beyond creepy now. We get it, you want to be a man.

That's kind of her style. What is it you expect her to wear?

I was willing to give Paige the benefit of the doubt when she said she gets very emotional about that song...thought maybe it was her mom's last words or something. But to get emotional because Michael Jackson recorded it???? Wtf??

Other than Simon, it's Ellen's opinion that I like because she is the "everyman" at the judge's table. Not a music insider, but she likes what she likes.

Then again, I've seen her judging style before on So You Think You Can Dance.

Katie Stevens - bad tone throughout the song performance. Would not be confident for Thursday's show.

Siobhan Magnus - what, didn't she sound old-fashioned? heh. Still not all that interested in the tenor of her vocals, but it was a good performance, nonetheless.

Lacey Brown - so cutesy, too cutesy.

Katelyn Epperly - kinda boring, lounge-singer-esque. She's in trouble this week.

Didi Benami - as long as she doesn't press her vocals, she's gota nice lilt to her voice, but it limits her in the songs she can sing well.

Paige Miles - bored me to tears. She's road kill this week.

Crystal Bowersox - good display of range mixed in with some soul, best performance of the night.

Lily Scott - sounded a little flat, and her weird vocal inflections were more distracting on this song.

Jesus Christ, get over it. She's been dressing this way for as long as she's been in the business.

Yeah seriously, I don't know what's creepy about it either. She looks good.

Just give the trophy to Crystal ...

Lily Scott reminds me of Tracy Ullman in a blond wig.

I really like Katie a lot. She has a great voice for a 17 yr old. I do wonder if maybe she should have waited another year or two.

And yes, I agree w/ MagicMom. Paige should have lied and said the song reminded her of her dead grandmother... not Michael Jackson. WTF!

If she waited, the show wouldn't be on the air anymore.

If you could package Lacey's looks with Crystal's vocals...

I like Crystal, but it's gonna be interesting seeing her when they get to theme weeks.

No, pal, she hasn't been dressing this manly since she's been in the business. And I've been following her career since I first saw her on Sunday Night Comics on Fox in 1991. It's only been in the last year or two that she's included the loose tie to her wardrobe. And this particular hairstyle is the shortest it's ever been, and not very flattering IMO. I'm not the only person commenting on all the above. Tune into Stern sometime. He and his listeners are saying the very same thing. It's also talked about quite a bit on the Idol website itself.

Paige is definitely gone. Katie has a very good chance of leaving as well.

I HATED Didi's version of Rhianon, to the point where I now dislike her as a contestant.

Re: American Idol Top 16, March 9, 10, & 11

Lilly was a huge disappointment last night. She impressed me a great deal the first two weeks, but this was a massive step backward, IMO.

Lacey reminds me of Susannah Hoffs vocally. I, too, am infatuated with her smiles to the camera. :)

Siobhan is my favorite overall. Her oddball personality and diva voice just seem so at odds with each other, yet mesh into such an interesting performer.

Crystal is the most polished and technically proficient, but I thought her Tracy Chapman cover didn't really add anything new to the song. Not that I personally that is a huge deal, but the judges knock other people for doing straightforward covers so why not her? I really want to see what she does in the wilder theme weeks.

Paige was just awful. Frankly I didn't even care for her that first week when the judges were going gaga over her, but she's been getting progressively worse week-to-week.
