Psych -- "The Head, the Tail, the Whole Damn Episode" -- 3/3/10

Spoiler:
When Lassiter maintains that a shark attack is really a planned murder to much skepticism at the department, Shawn and Gus eventually take pity on him and set out to help him prove the crime.

Please let Shawn not be even half as annoying as he was during the last episode. -pray-

Actually thought this one was really, really solid. Nice to have more Henry.

I liked this episode too especially the part about fishing for "marlin" Wayans and Gus saying, "White Chicks was hilarious."

"It's a what?"
"A tiger shark."

That was a great subtle nod to Jaws. :D

Shawn was greatly improved this episode and I loved seeing more of Henry.

I enjoyed this one as well. Liked Shawn encouraging Lassiter's wild speculations.

And nice to see Seven of Nine again.

Phew! What a relief. If Shawn had been as annoying as as last week's, it wouldn't have been good.

I thought this was a very good episode. Lots of things quickly intertwined. Lassie trying to beat Shawn was great. Jeri Ryan's character and her interaction with Henry was a neat aspect as well.

Looking forward to more episodes such as this and not the one the week before.

I think this is an instance of people writing the same character differently.

Monk was particularly guilty of the practice, with the character of Monk moving between a pathetic clown and a focused detective from episode to episode. With that show, it got to the point where you knew exactly how much they would make fun of the character or how much they would respect him as soon as you saw the writing credits.

Regardless of whether or not that's the case here (I haven't paid attention too closely to writing credits this season), I agree with everyone else posting that this was a great one. :)

It's funny cause I was thinking the same thing and just checked the writers of "Think Tank" and surprisingly they were Steve Franks and Andy Berman. Franks is the creator and Berman's written some really good episodes of Psych. Weird that two guys who have a lot of influence on the show were behind an episode where Shawn was that annoying.

And a not so subtle one for Jaws IV. Although, I once again must say that it is NOT the worst sequel ever made, it's not even the worst sequel of the Jaws series. Jaws 3-D is a lot worse than IV.
And would a 1989 Shawn still be afraid of IV, since it came out in 1987?

Glad to see that Shawn was somewhat reined in this episode. And we were finally reminded that Gus has a regular job.

Psych was in peak form this episode. Great dialogue and one liners.
Gus' gag reflex.
Detective dipshit.
"shut it" bits.
Carlton going crazy.
"white chicks was hilarious"
"Call me Guts"

the storyline...i felt that the storyline was pretty weak, but the humor was definitely better than most of the episodes this season.
Enjoyed this one, and looking forward to the season finale.

Good episode ... loved the "chalkboard" gag at the town hall meeting.

"Gus forgot to set his DVR for the Leverage finale".

The Marlon Wayans joke came out of nowhere, it was hilarous!

This episode was mile a minute with one liners!

Not sure why everyone thought Shawn was so annoying last week. They explained why he acts like that when he is off his game in season 3 I think.

Corbin Bernsen was on the Tim & Eric Awesome Show premiere last sunday.

Jaws is probably my favorite film, so I loved this episode.

Don't get the problems with last week's episode either.

That was the funniest line of the show, but only because no human could possibly like that film.

Even though I affirmed his statement in the post that you quoted. Thanks.

Yes, This.

In the "Think Tank" episode Shawn was clearly trying WAAAAAAAAY too hard, because he was intimidated by those in the think tank. And even before he was intimidated, he was more cocky than usual (thus the missing the fake fingerprint scanner).

Was he annoying? yes. but it was consistent with his character.

It's not a good movie, but it does have its funny moments.

Just sarcasm guys (?). But until I see you and perform DNA testing, I'll have to think that you're both either V, Plutonian, or Wayan.

I actually checked to see if Dule Hill had a supporting role in White Girls.

White Chicks > >>>>> Little Man

I was disappointed there was no reveal. Realistically, the only known character that it could be would be his mother, and that isn't going to be the case, so it looks like it is a unknown character at this point.

What is Psych where Shawn & Gus go to a tanning salon, shawn tell Gus to stall the attendant there, and Gus starts enquiring about what kind of tan to get ?
