Twenty Four (24) -- "11:00pm to 12:00am" -- 02/15/10

Synopsis:
Spoiler:
Some news about Kiefer. He will have surgery for a ruptured cyst near his kidney. The show shut down for 1 week while he recovers. It should not affect the rest of the season at all since they are working on episodes 21 and 22 right now.

Surgery on your stomach is a serious thing. It's going to be interesting to see how Kiefer is used in those last 4 episodes.

If he's somewhat incapacitated, they can blame it on Jack's stab wound.
Looking forward to see what happens next with the guys from Rock Springs. If we're lucky, they'll blackmail Jenny into yet another robbery!

If Kiefer is truely like Jack, send in a couple of armed men. He'll act all injured but when he sees then, he'll be back on his feet killing again & totally recovered.

So it took a jolt to Jack's pacemaker to finally get him started. Too bad there weren't more goons for him to kill.

Finally things are starting to pick up. I love how the President and Hastings just defer to whatever Jack thinks they should do; finally some of the higher ups in 24 are using common sense.

Yup. Now they just gotta rush the Dana subplot to a quick conclusion.
Anyone else get a red shirt vibe from the CTU kid that Cole helped with the clasp?

Say she kills the rednecks. Then what? Even if she doesn't get arrested, she's just going to go back to CTU and work like nothing happened? I think we all know that this crisis won't be over for quite some time so it's not like she can just go home. If something goes wrong and she gets abducted by the rednecks then what? A couple hours of her tied up somewhere and rednecks arguing over what to do before finally calling CTU and demanding a ransom and then Cole coming in to kill the rednecks. That'll take hours and therefore we have to put up with this STUPID subplot for that much longer.
Her character has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. She's an absolute idiot and a liability to CTU so what good is she? I say kill her and then focus on how Cole handles that. If he's going to be the next Jack Bauer, he's gonna have to learn to deal with minor things like a dead fiance anyway.

No way, I love Kenny Powers and Couch Guy! Couch Guy slapping him on the ass in the strip club had me rolling.
And it was kind of random with the kid on the elevator but I think it was just showing that Cole was still trying to focus. Not all of the randoms end up dying either. What about the security guard that Jack saved the life of at the warehouse? I thought for sure that guy was toast when they showed him calling his wife. But Jack saw differently.

Oh yeah!
Now THAT'S how you do an episode of 24. It was Die Hard in a Russian restaurant. Right down to the bare feet, bare chest and crawling around under tables while someone shoots at you from above! I was just waiting for Jack to say "Yippee Kaiyay mother fucker!"

I see Cole as another Tony rather than another Jack. Renee seems more like the new Jack.
What irritates me about the Dana subplot is that they could have easily made it matter if her ex was using her to compromise CTU. They even left a dangling thread when she was briefly trying to figure out how he tracked her down. She at first accused that chick (her sister?) she called but that seemed to be a dead end. So how did this guy find her when a government background check failed to raise any red flags? It's as if the writers are trying to avoid any opportunity to make this subplot remotely compelling yet insist on devoting an obscene amount of time on it.

I think everybody agrees that the whole subplot is stupid, but what are they even going to do with Dana for the next what...15 hours.
