Sorry for the confusion.
This episode would have made the most sense for her to come back for 1 episode. As I mentioned earlier, I found it odd that they didn't even mention her in passing or even having her call Mindy to say congratulations.

It is completely realistic that Tyra wouldn't be able to rush back to Dillon for the birth.
To me the show isn't about characters like Tyra anymore. With just 13 episodes, I'm irritated they wasted that time on Lyla's return in ep 6.

She's not on the show anymore. There's no reason to talk about her.

Glad your still watching. It sucks that the NBC re-airs only have minimal interest in this forum since these aired months ago and some here who don't have Directv saw them through alternative means. I thought there was alot of interesting developments this season and it's a heavily serialized show. I know this show isn't Lost, but geez I've only seen 1-2 comments a week from people watching it on NBC here. I know I can't expect live commentary like..
"OMG I can't believe Landry did that!"
"Tami got screwed big time!"
I really enjoyed this episode back when it originally aired.

I don't think this season is nearly as bad as everyone here has said. That was Tyra's Mom in the delivery room wasnt it, it would have been a nice cameo appearance for Tyra to show up. It kind of sucks to see what has happened to the Taylor's these last few episodes. Tammi is about to get fired, and Eric's field got tore up in retaliation for the toothpick prank. Hopefully the season ends well next week.

Season 5 will probably be more like season 1 and 3 then if they want to give the show a good wrap up.

For me, the least believable part of the past two episodes has been the fact that Tami was hauled before the school board about counseling Becky about what to do with her baby. As far as I'm concerned, the board should not have heard the complaint from Luke's mom since it's not her child that she is complaining about. If Tami loses her job, she would have one hell of a wrongful termination lawsuit against the school district since the school board member told Luke's mom and probably leaked it to the newspaper.
I hope Vince gets his situation resolved before the game against the Panthers, otherwise we might have a Black Sunday situation going on.
I wonder if that was Tim calling from jail when Eric lost his temper and started smashing the phone?
Kyle Chandler can do more not saying anything than other actors can do with a soliloquy.
What Coach Taylor called jingle jangles (if I heard that right), I called suicide squeezes in basketball. Painful memories.

Coach Taylor should make East Dillon give all ticket sales and stuff his school since they are being forced to lose out on a home game. One game sales at East Dillon are probably as much as the entire season at West Dillon. I wonder if the game is gonna come down to a 40 yard FG.

I've been pleased with this season as well -- lowered my expectations going into it might have helped out a bit. What I like most I think is how well the show does at casting its new characters. I really like both Vince and Luke this season. Landry's gf is pretty good too (forgot her name). Only question mark is Becky.

I don't know. I remember at my high school they promoted the World History teacher after a year to assistant principal, and then to head principal the next year. I realize that is a little longer than Tammy, but it does happen. Did we ever find out how much education Tammy had? I know she was a house wife at the beginning of the series, but a lot of women quit their jobs to raise their children.

I think she had a Masters, but I could be imagining that.
I nitpick about FNL quite a bit, but I never had an issue with Tammy being the Principal.

Agree about the new characters. Vince and Luke were really pleasant surprises.
