I dropped this show last week. Judging by the synopsis it was the right move.

Hopefully Mike comes to his senses and dumps Susan for the stripper and they can replace Teri Hatcher with Julie Benz.

Amazing how the writers have managed to drain all the fun out of this show.

Hopefully John Barrowman's arrival will help this show along!

Not quite. Think more desperate for ratings:

Re: Desperate Housewives -- "The Glamorous Life" -- 01/31/10

While this show still provides very funny one-liners by characters, I'm amazed at how this show is literally about nothing now. There's no build-up to an over-arching, larger plot point.

At this point, we just have a bunch of characters involved in individual story lines that are all self contained. And ultimately not very interesting.

I think this is more of a rebuilding year than anything. When they extended the show for the additional two years (as opposed to the original 7 year run) I'm not sure they knew what do with the season. Also, I think they really screwed up by putting so many characters in a position where they can't create real drama (putting Mike & Susan together too early, Carlos & Gabby as the happy couple, etc.).

That being said I thought this was probably the most entertaining episode of the season so far.
