so who shot Ballard?
the only people with guns were Victor's group and since they hadn't made it inside yet them killing him wouldn't make sense

I thought a random Butcher shot Ballard after they shot the chick with Zone in the legs.

Spoiler:
Echo got Ballard's imprint as a gift from Alpha, downloaded the scan and went to bed. Also, Victor and Sierra reconciled.

Did Victor and Sierra have some sort of immunity to the pulse? They seemed to recognize their kid after it went off.

Being underground makes you immune to the pulse.

This episode made it seem that way but I think they used guns in Epitath 1. Someone have BD/DVD handy to confirm?

Thanks! I guess I didn't miss as much as I thought. OK ending. I think if FOX had given Joss more time this could have really been a great series --- but at least no one can really complain that FOX didn't at least try.

Watched this finale earlier. It would have been nice to see an extended version of this future as a full season.

Did they really try though? A Friday time slot?

Either way, it was destined to fail. Eliza can't carry a show (which she was trying to do). Joss did her a favor so now they are even. Moving on.

How are they even? What favor did she do for him?

Just got around to the finale - I was not wild about the series at first (I now blame FOX for the way they rolled it out), but grew to love it. It had some flaws, but seemed to be well on the way to fixing them by season 2. I'll miss the show, and I'm thankful it got a sort of finale, but mostly I hope that there is more work in the future for a truly talented and likable cast, especially Tahmoh Penikett, Enver Gjokaj and the hot, hot Miracle Laurie.

That's a pretty good counter actually. I guess I was in the mindset of loyalty to previous cast members when I posted that.

It's obvious Joss befriends the people who he has worked with. Eliza sucks but if she came to me, I'm not too sure I can deny helping her out due to time spent working together.

Would you turn down your 'friend' if that person had a shot of doing something?

Re: Dollhouse -- "Epitaph 2: The Return" -- Series Finale -- 01/29/10 -- RIP 2009-10

I picked up Season Two on DVD today and thought I'd post about the future of Dollhouse.

So as many of you probably know, Season Two DVDs and Blu-rays come with a "Limited Edition" One-Shot Comic, named Epitaphs. It's pretty short, but takes place immediately before the Dolls took over and gives us a look at what Mag (Felicia Day) and Zone (Zack Ward) were doing before we met them in Epitaph One.

As I read it today, I realized how the events between the Dolls taking over and Epitaph One and Epitaph Two are really perfect for a comic series. They can show us what Mag and Zone were like at the start and how they met and formed a resistance; how Sierra and Victor split up and Victor went with the Techs; etc. And apparently, I wasn't alone in thinking how great a comic series this could be:

Atkins said that the comic book treatment of Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse" would continue. "This is something that Joss had gone back and forth on at different times," he said. "It started with us doing a small story to be inserted in the 'Dollhouse' season 2 DVD that got the ball rolling, and we will do a one-shot in April and a miniseries after that." The comic will be written by Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, the writers of the TV show, and will be set in a future Los Angeles after the Dollhouse technology has reduced the city to ruins.
LINK (toward the bottom)

As a fan of Buffy The Vampire Season Eight and Angel: After The Fall, as well as the other Whedon comics, I'm really looking forward to this. It will be nice because we have a definitive end to the storyline, but the comics can be used to fill in the blanks.

Though I agree with the idea that comic spin-offs can be kinda tiresome. I read Angel: After the Fall and liked it well enough. But then it turned into Aftermath, and kinda just kept going with some really crappy plot threads. Eventually I just gave up on it. Guess it's just a business just like any other...
