Same here. He had some classic lines this season and really evolved well. I also really liked Echo in the latter half of this season; didn't care for her prior to then.

Overall, I'm okay how it all went down to the very end for this show. Had it been given more seasons, it might become truly too convoluted to be enjoyed on a weekly basis, so having to get through with broader strokes made for a better maxi-series in the end.

Those who did not see Epitaph I had to have been totally lost. That "previously on.." segment at the beginning did not help any.

I don't remember this being talked about in the show but was Alpha like Echo where he could retain all of his imprints or did he just glitch and go crazy? I'm wondering if he was Rossum's first experiment at creating an immunity for mindwipes.

He self-imprinted all of the personalities; he was already crazy (his original self), but as he became more self-aware and as a result of the imprinting process I think it just drove him further insane. He is like Echo in that he has a large number of imprints in his head, but differs from Echo in that it made him completely unstable and he (at least in the past episodes) was unable to control which one surfaced (if you remember he would change personality drastically). Echo, on the other hand, developed a sane Echo personality and has control over all the imprints to the point where she can readily recall a personality whenever she needs to.

Based on this episode, however, it seems that Alpha has gained control over his imprints and developed a stable Alpha personality.

Don't forget that Alpha downloaded Ballard into his noggin. I like to think Paul's influence helped steer him towards redemption.

I actually forgot that, but now that you mention it, I think he took out Ballard this episode so Echo could put him in.

Great finale and ending. This season has really come a long way and I'm sad to see it go. One more 13 ep season would've been great.
And I too was wondering why the ME logo appeared so awkardly. It seems like they were trying to hurry up that stupid Kitchen Nightmare show.

You're correct. That was the favor Alpha asked for and why he left Echo the message to go to chair first thing (under the pretext that she dismantle it). I also believe it's why he left. If he was so worried about reverting due to the pulse, he could have stayed in the Dollhouse. However he didn't trust himself without Ballard's stabilizing influence.

That was me. No idea what was going on or who all those people were. Kind of lost interest.

They should have aired both episodes as a two hour finale.

It was a shame that Fox didn't just air both part 1 and 2 of Epitaph tonight.

Obviously they couldn't have done that as their most important show was returning tonight...KITCHEN NIGHTMARES!

Maybe on one side of the country. We don't all live on the east cost. The spoiler discussion could be held off until both sides of the country have had the opportunity to see it, after that its fair game.

Anyway, Just finished the episode and I'm going to pretend that the series ended on the previous episode. Terrible, just terrible. During the last few episodes the show really pushed itself into the doomsday thing, they completely lost the original feel of the show. They should have just ended it after the last episode and not jumped ahead ten years. Felt rushed and unnatural.

Although I didn't much care for the Reavers - err - Butchers, I'd hardly call this episode terrible. Rushed, yes, but not terrible.

I also wouldn't say it was terrible, but it also wasn't as good as the previous episode or Epitaph 1. The pacing was quick, but it didn't have a lot of substance to it.

I also didn't like the happy ending. Resetting everyone felt cheap. And that is 2 episodes in a row with senseless death by lack of explosive timer.

Why the hell would you even want to read this thread in the evening if you haven't seen the episode yet and then bitch about spoilers? That is just stupid.

Primetime doesn't begin until 8pm. 7pm is still local programming on the weekdays. I guess FOX assumed if you really loved Dollhouse, you were going to watch Epitaph 1 on the DVD before seeing this episode.

The rules here are spoilers until it FIRST airs. That's generally Eastern, but we have had issues where Canadians in the maritime provinces see it first (Atlantic time?).

I haven't seen that, but I know some shows have been aired on Canadian networks earlier in the week than they are shown in the US. I've seen that most recently with Veronica Mars, I think.

I kept waiting for Victor to show us his "Topher" USB Drive.

I haven't seen Epitaph I, but I did read a description of it and was able to follow it pretty well.

Good bye Josh Wheedon Mini-series #2.

You will go on my shelf next to Firefly and Pushing Daisies.

Chuck airs on Sunday in Canada, though most Canadian DVD Talkers refrain from spoilers until Monday night.
