For a clip show, I thought it was pretty enjoyable. It was nice to see Pam and Jim as their relationship has evolved over the seasons.

Ricky Gervais was right... "quality, not quantity". Do three or four really good seasons and leave on a high note.

Think about it this way - the money they saved here will be used to make Pam and Jims baby look even more lifelike!

I was very let down when I found out it was a clip show. The only reasons I didn't totally hate it was because they added new material and it technically made sense for the most part to help push the storylines along and set up what's to come. I fast forwarded past most of the clips, although I did stop to watch some of it. I laughed just as hard at the "In fact, the only thing I am afraid of, is gettin a boner" line as I did when I first saw it. I watched the episode in just a few minutes.

It doesn't really help that the clips just highlighted even more the superiority of the older episodes of the show. I laughed at all the stuff from season 3 and before, and mostly just frowned at the (few) later season bits that were included.

I find myself watching 3-4 episodes of The Office nightly due to "On-Demand". I love this show. I used to just watch it off and on, but now I am a regular for sure!

Is the premise of this show starting to wear really thin now for anyone else? So it seems that the documentary crew has been filming for 4+ years and so far there hasn't been any public release of their work? At least on the original The Office, the documentary covered a fairly short period of time and was eventually released and seen by the people in the office. I believe the final Christmas special was a return of the documentary crew to follow up with everyone after the original documentary was released.
I suppose we are supposed to be seeing the output of the documentary as the TV show itself, but in the universe of the show I would guess the show has not yet been aired?
With the company knowing of the kind of behavior going on in this office, why would they allow a long term documentary to be made about them? Wouldn't that harm the image of the company in public eye when it was released. In the original, it seemed liked the higher ups weren't quite as aware of how weird David Brent was. In this version, it is pretty hard for everyone not to know how bizarre Michael Scott is.
Also, when they are bought out by the new company, why would the new company allow the documentary to continue being made? Plus, aren't the employees tired of having cameras follow them and having to do interviews over such a long period of time. Once again, in the UK version it seemed reasonable that they would put up with it for short period of time. Wouldn't the camera operators become just like other co-workers in the office. It would be great if they had a storyline where Kelly fell in love with one of the cameramen.
OK, I know I'm reading too much into it and need to suspsend my disbelief a bit more. I'm still trying to figure out if there is actually being a documentary being made on Modern Family or not.

The danger of clip shows is they usually happen when the show is getting creatively bankrupt and lazy, and past clips only demonstrate how far the show has fallen. The Jim/Pam scenes were great, but it only shows how BORING they are now.
Ricky Gervais was right... "quality, not quantity". Do three or four really good seasons and leave on a high note.

I guess I just don't take my network TV viewing so seriously that if a clip show pops up I feel "screwed" "robbed" or like it was "bs". It sucked, but they didn't come into my home and take my paycheck and shave my monkey.

What made this clip show worse than most was that The Office has been off the air for several weeks and this is what they came back with.

I knew it was a clip show going in, so I have no idea if I would have been annoyed at the misdirection of the promos.
Too bad the writers couldn't figure out how to have Jim prank Dwight when Dwight was being Computron.
Seeing the clips reminded me of just how funny this show is.
