Letterman's analysis is spot-on, especially since he even mentioned to not blame Conan.

Leno continues to prove how much of a worthless piece of shit he is.

Yeah Edd Hall was his announcer for years until he retired.

Not a fan of Letterman, and he usually makes no damn sense, but his commentary was remarkably lucid and simple enough for even a Leno audience member to understand.

The remark about when you're fired, you don't say "I'll be in the lobby if you need me" (in his best Jay Leno/Mike Tyson voice) and "you don't wait around waiting for someone to drop dead" were about the best way to sum it up.

And Leno taking shots at NBC, even if they are accurate, just sort of rings hollow to me (And I would not be surprise if he got the OK to do this to some degree).

yup. It's as if Jay sees Conan and Dave taking shots at NBC and wants to steal their bits, too.

Re: NBC: let's see how low we can go (Conan thread, part 2)

LOS ANGELES – The sticking point in Conan O'Brien's complex exit negotiations with NBC involves his TV staff, not Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog, a person familiar with the talks said Tuesday.

Although discussions also focused on whether NBC would keep the rights to familiar O'Brien comedy bits including Triumph, O'Brien's focus was ensuring severance deals for his "Tonight" staff and crew, the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the talks were intended to be private.

O'Brien is "dug in on that," the person said.

NBC fired back in a statement, saying "it was Conan's decision to leave NBC that resulted in nearly 200 of his staffers being out of work."

"We have already agreed to pay millions of dollars to compensate every one of them. This latest posturing is nothing more than PR ploy," the network said.

A spokesman for O'Brien declined to comment

Fuck I hate Robin Williams on talk shows. I'll just have to suck it up and deal with it.

Even if I was on Leno's side in this crap, that's an awful bit. It's embarrassing when the guy coming out on top of all this takes swipes at everyone who's gotten screwed.

And you can't take the fucking high road one night, then come out the next night and be a dick. Jesus.

Yes, because if there's one thing NBC is known for, it's sticking to their word and always doing the right thing for all involved.

Letterman took the high road for the 17 years Leno did the Tonight Show. He got screwed and never said a peep about it. This is poetic justice that Leno is finally getting people to call him the names he deserves.

Oh my God, I can't even watch these Letterman clips. Paul is the worst thing that ever happened to Late Night. He's worse than Jay Leno. I just pray during the whole clip that he's going to just keel over and die.

Seriously - how does Dave put up with it?

I don't mind Paul usually--as long as he says something that spurs Dave onto more, it's entertaining. But when Dave has dialogues like this, hearing Paul repeating words in the background is just downright annoying.

It was obvious from the sound of things, that the audience found it kinda low, too. Especially the internet search bit.

Dick Everasshole (I think I'm pronouncing that correctly) will be on The Colbert Report tonight.

Well, it looks like intern jokes is the only thing Leno can come up with. I can't see him doing these long and funny rants like Letterman does at this desk.

Also didn't Conan do the internet search bit back in his Late Night show? Hell, even Jimmy Fallon was doing the Bing internet search bit.

If only Bill Hicks were still alive. I could see him being one of Conan's last guests.

I find the point pretty ironic since the following statement is a PR ploy itself:
"it was Conan's decision to leave NBC that resulted in nearly 200 of his staffers being out of work."
They make it sound as if Conan just up and decided to leave for no particular reason. They can't just try to pass blame one link back when they're ultimately at the end, pulling on the chain. And considering how NBC has mistreated Conan, some minor posturing in the media by his camp doesn't bother me one bit.

On another note, I miss seeing Norm MacDonald on TV.
