Beyond the whole CTU is a joke, and Chloe being there is an even bigger joke.. Why does CTU have a "looks like we are decrypting something" on their big screen.. What happens if they do decrypt something? Why do they even have a big screen? Why is there 1 girl working there in tank top.

Renee is now officially more Bauer than the real Bauer.
By the way, how long has it been since last season? Has it been 6 years? Renee was undercover 6 years ago, so was that right after the incidents of last season or was her undercover thing long before the incidents of last season and long before she ever met Jack? I kinda missed it but it seemed like Chloe was talking about her being undercover 6 years ago and then said something about her being with Jack. I feel like I totally missed it.

I don't think that's the case; it's probably just that Renee stopped working undercover with the Russians 6 years ago; but she was still working for the FBI up until last year.
BTW, I love her new baddass-iness...

How old is Jack's granddaughter? That would be a decent indicator of how long it's been since Season 7.
Oh, and crazy, bad girl Renee...

2 more things I'm curious about: The girl in the cocktail dress has freakishly big arms... has she been practicing in case she has to armwrestle Bauer?
and why did Jack wait so long (aka more than 30 seconds) to kick the crap out of Dom from Entourage?

At least it is realistic in its portrayal that the NYPD tortures people based on circumstantial evidence and conjecture. Wouldn't want people thinking cops in NY were anything but cowboys and Punisher wannabes.

Enjoyed tonight's episodes MUCH more than last night's.
--But the cop beating up Jack was stupid.
--I've only seen Katie Sackhoff in "strong woman" roles. This doesn't suit her and her decisions are mind-boggling.
--Really liking Freddie Prinze Jr.
--LOVED Renee at the end. Jack created a MONSTER!!!!!!!!!!

reminds me of the female detective in that show Dark Blue on TNT. Same thing, bad past, covered up and somehow they got in law enforcement.
Rene's sawing the dude's hand off was just about as badass as the ax to the chest yesterday. So far, this season has been off to a slow start, but they have a pretty good premise.

I can't wait until the redneck dude bites it (the sooner the better).
I just want to see Katee go Bauer on him as soon as she gets back to the apartment. (Though, I know he'll be around much longer, much to my chagrin.)

The one thing I thought was stupid is that Starbuck could've just called police. Say she got a phone call from a neighbor who saw the guy enter her apartment, she could've denied knowing him, and he could've got arrested. Boom. End of problem. Even if he starts spouting off about how she's got a secret life, the cops won't care about that.

I'll should probably reserve judgement for a little bit, especially after being burned 2 seasons ago after the awesome 2 night premier, but so far I'm very impressed and like where the show MIGHT be going. There are a lot of possibilities. I think a lot of people were worried about Freddie...not trying to toot my own horn or anything, but for some reason I thought he'd do well, but I'm liking him a lot so far. Bad ass Renee is awesome, but I hope she doesn't just brood for the entire season. I really hope that Dana/Jenny actually has some important secret and the hick dude isn't just some jackoff ex boyfriend. That storyline would get old FAST, so hopefully either something big is revealed next week or that dude disappears quickly.
Personally, other than the hick dude in Dana's house, I think the first 4 hours have been great and I'm looking forward to the season. We'll see how it progesses.

So if Sark is now part of the Russian gang, the only logical next step is to call in Jack and Sydney to team up with Jack and Rene!!! Oh and that hardware store is down the street from CTU. Fuck I hate knowing that CTU is in LIC . Thats going to fuck with me all season.

Herc was already a screw up in Baltimore, why did he have to go screw up another town in another show. At least he's gone...probably.
What's the deal with Jack getting all indignant. I do believe he actually cut a guy's head off once to make someone else talk.
I wonder if Dana's ex is somehow related to Lynn's sister or maybe to Chase's baby. All I know is that plot is just as excruciating as those were. With a name like Dana Walsh they should have made her Walsh's daughter or something. That would have been better. Very few of these CTU personal drama storylines have ever worked, but I guess they have to find ways to kill time.

By taking out Davros, Jack not only saved the peace talks, but he prevented the creation of the Daleks!

I love you Renee, but damn giiiirl! I like it! Good job writers. Renee didn't even flinch when Bauer ran into the store.
Kevin/"Jenny" storyline is bugging me now. I gave it 4 episodes to impress me. No thanks.
ah yes, black stereotypes on MLK day (the basketball court scene). haha
Cole almost getting killed execution style was a good scene. Had me holding my breath even though I was certain he wouldn't die so quickly. Maybe it was the music.
Cool. That guy from Heroes is in the Russian mob. I hate Heroes now, so I'm glad he joined 24
