Crash (Starz) Question

i just watching season 2 on netfilx and why dont it pick up where season 1 ends? its like a whole new show

I haven't watched it yet, but they hired new producers and writers for season 2 and went in an entirely different direction. I believe Dennis Hopper's character is the only one returning from season 1.
