What are some good Summer shows?
Obviously summer sees a season of repeats with the exception of shows that air on TBS, USA etc.
What are some good shows that you recommend?
In summers passed I've always used Netflix to play catch up with CSI's etc for the regular TV season. But I'm looking to find some good shows that air primarily in the summer months so will be using the time between the new year and say May to catch up on some shows, so that I'm good to go when they air.

Even though they've been mixing up the showing seasons the past few series, Hell's Kitchen will always be a summer show in my mind. It used to be a mini-tradition for my girlfriend and I to start up the grill before the show started.

Another +1 for Burn Notice. USA ran a two season marathon the week before season 3 premiered. 3.5 is premiering in January, keep an eye out for another marathon and you can DVR them all. That's how I got hooked on the show.

Army Wives (Lifetime)---100% soap opera, but I love all the female leads.
Burn Notice (USA)
Royal Pains (USA)---Kind of a rocky 1st season, but fun nevertheless
Rescue Me (FX)---Although next season is the last and it's being split into 2 parts.
Warehouse 13 (SyFy)
Hell's Kitchen (FOX)
So You Think You Can Dance (FOX)---Needs to stay in the summer. Did not watch Fall season.
Leverage (TNT)
The Closer (TNT)
Dark Blue (TNT)
Flashpoint (CBS)----It's looking like this is going to air next summer

Eureka
Psych
The Closer
Leverage
I'd recommend Saving Grace too but this is it's last season coming up so I wouldn't want a newbie to get too attached.

None of these are Summer shows. That's just your backlog.

I didn't like Royal Pains, but I like the other USA Network summer shows. Burn Notice and Psych are both very good, while In Plain Sight is good but inconsistent. Leverage on TNT can be hit or miss too but is overall worth watching.

So far on season 2 of Leverage there were some very meh episodes, but some were pretty damn good that had the magic of season 1.

Re: What are some good Summer shows?
'Burn Notice' was definitely one that I had planned on catching up on. And I believe that the first 2 seasons of 'Leverage' are available on Netflix VOD, so hat should help.
Thanks for the suggestions

Re: What are some good Summer shows?
The Closer is a good procedural drama with mostly self contained episodes. However, if you have time, I would try to watch some of the earlier seasons 1st than jump into season 6 this summer right away. The only thing you will miss is the progressions of some of the key characters like Brenda.
From what I've heard about Season 3 of In Plain Sight, it's essentially going to be a re-boot of the show. USA gave it a 3rd season, but decided to fire the creator of the show and hire a new showrunner John McNamara, who was the creator of Eyes and the Fugitive remake.

Interesting development. I liked the show well enough even though it clearly had problems. This change may help to dramatically improve the show.

Re: What are some good Summer shows?
Went with 'Burn Notice' and have seen the first season and now waiting for the second season to arrive from Netflix - great show!! And we've also been catching up with 'True Blood' and have a couple of episodes left in season 2 before we're caught up.
