While I do not watch GH and have no plans to do such, I admire Franco for lending himself to a guest stint. Apparently he's on there for up to three months (soaps shoot a lot at once), so plenty of time to catch him.

Re: James Franco on General Hospital
Given the high his career was on after last year this just seems like an odd move.
I can see doing a guest shot if you're a huge fan of the show, but three months....

Franco has already starred in an experimental art film titled Erased James Franco, which was being shown in museums earlier this year.
[read about it here: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/cult...arde-muse.html]
And after you read about that project, it's easy to suspect that Franco is doing GH as another exploration of the art of acting.
BTW--Franco is going to host SNL in Dec

I was at home waiting on Carly and the boys but they never showed up. She called me later in the day to tell me they had car trouble.

Snoop Dogg is into One Life To Live. Appeared a few times too. I remember him talking about it on Larry King, saying he loves that show.

Nope, he had never seen it before. It's part of his "performance art" project and he's doing it for the experience. If he didn't have the same agent as Steve Burton, it would have been any other soap.

Lucky Spencer
Portrayed by:
Jonathan Jackson
(October 1993 - May 1999; October 2009 - present)
Jacob Young
(February 2000 - February 2003)
Greg Vaughan
(February 2003 - October 20, 2009)
I think JJ makes the character more intense.
Not sure how much Franco will help with the ratings. GH has some good stuff now and then, but it's not the best. I usually check this page for the soap tv numbers.

I did look it up and I didn't recognize him because he was a young teen when he was first on as the first Lucky.
He's ok I guess, he'll proably grow on me.

Re: James Franco on General Hospital
Franco certainly doesnt need the money. He's an educated guy who's unconventional in his choices. i give him a lot of credit for it.
The 3 month stint is really just a week or so of shooting.
I loved GH many moons ago, but this ongoing 'mob' stuff (that feels like its going on for 10 years ...which it probably has) is mind-numbing.

Re: James Franco on General Hospital
I think he calls it performance art to because for some reason he is ashamed to appear on a soap. Kind of like WWE referring to wrestling as sports entertainment.
