Eagleheart (Chris Elliot, Adult Swim)

Looks promising:

Chris Elliott has been tapped as the lead of "Eagleheart," a live-action comedy pilot for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. "Eagleheart," from Conan O'Brien's Conaco Prods. and Dakota Pictures, centers on a low-level television executive sent to Texas to produce the action series "Eagleheart." He finds himself stuck in a never-ending power struggle with his temperamental star/creator/exec producer (Elliott), a veteran action star past his prime who uses the show as a soapbox for his right-wing politics and conservative paranoia.

Chris Elliot: with a long history of being not funny + Adult Swim: where 95% of their shows are completely retarded = a perfect match that I will put forth every effort to avoid like the fucking plague.

So will this be a 15 min show that bounces around the schedule so much no one will ever catch it until DVD?

Yet you care enough to take the time to post in a thread about it.

re: Eagleheart (Chris Elliot, Adult Swim)

I'll give it a watch. Loved his show a decade ago, recently saw him on HIMYM and liked him there. and yes, 95% of anything you watch on adult swim is stupid at first. Strangely most any show you actually stop and watch on Adult Swim grows on you after a bit.

Check out the rave reviews on the Venture Brothers, Boondocks, Robot Chicken, Space Ghost and Harvey Birdman. Other shows like Aquateam and Xavier are more more polarizing in opinion but fans of those shows like them a lot.

So perhaps if you think 95% of the shows are crap maybe you didn't give them a fair shot or your reality on what is exactly funny is flawed.

re: Eagleheart (Chris Elliot, Adult Swim)

The Adult Swim shows are consistently interesting and it's great that the 10 minute segment format allows them to put on a lot of weird/different shows. I like most of them, some don't quite hit with me, but I appreciate the feel of the block. It reminds me of the classic days of MTV, USA Network etc, in a lot of ways.

Chris Elliot is great.

I love Letterman. I thought 'Raymond' was great, but I hate Chris Elliot.

That it such a ridiculous statement I'm not even going to give it the attention it screams for.

Boondocks is a 30 minute show. A lot of their picked up non-original shows like Home Movies, The Oblongs, Mission Hill, they were all 30 minute shows.

How much effort does it take to avoid a tv show?

re: Eagleheart (Chris Elliot, Adult Swim)

Really looking forward to this tonight. It's been way too long since Chris Elliott had a starring role on a show.

The three cast members not named "Chris Elliott" are on this week's Comedy Death-Ray podcast:

Maybe I misheard it, but it sounds like the whole "behind the scenes" aspect was dropped and it's now a straight up "Walker Texas Ranger" parody.

re: Eagleheart (Chris Elliot, Adult Swim)

I have found that I followed more shows on Adult Swim than network shows; their programing tends to be on the clever side and Squidbillies is amazing; the amount of wit in that show is great.

re: Eagleheart (Chris Elliot, Adult Swim)

Saw Chris on Letterman the other day. I about lost it when just before playing a fake clip Chris asks Hal (Gurnee) if he has the clip. Hal left in '95.
