Elizabeth Mitchell looks a lot better in the past two eps. than she did in the first IMO. Looks more like the MILF her character should.

The fifth column was a pretty important part of the original miniseries from 1983, so it's not like they're mining BSG for material. (And not like the issue isn't a staple of war movies from decades ago, either.)

I am still liking this so far, but I am scared they are burning through too much too soon and we'll get to a point where they start obviously and painfully stalling to stretch the seasons out. Assuming we actually get seasons.

I cracked a smile when Elizabeth Mitchell called the priest by his first name.

I was talking more about the BSG tone, and how the material could easily lend itself to that if they wanted to go there.

One thing that I thought of when the two Vs met at the store that they still acted like humans (how the greeted each other with the hug). It seems when Vs are not around humans at all, they'd act more alien. Maybe talk another languange or something.

It would be a twist if Anna's 'daughter' was actually a male V with just a female skin.

Also find it funny that the Vs refer to themselves as Vs.

This was bugging me too last night. I can understand that maybe they're all trying to stay "in-character" when they're wearing their human suits to stay in practice, but it does diminish their "alien-ness".

Count me in with the people saying that the plot is moving way too fast, too. I normally like it when a show doesn't take forever to get to the point of things (this is what drove me away from Smallville years ago), but there's also something to be said for building suspense. It would have been nice if they at least waited until after the first episode for the "Vs are evil" reveal. On top of that, the show really could have benefitted from not portraying humans as completely welcoming the Vs without any sort of questioning outside of small groups of protesters. Again, it would have been nice to show at least some sign of reluctance before allowing 100 members of an alien race free roam of the country three episodes in. How much time has supposedly passed since the Vs showed up, anyway?

mindless entertainment. nothing much more than that.

i think they're speeding thru things because they're going on hiatus and want to firmly establish a story before the break.

Re: "V" -- "A Bright New Day" -- 11/17/09

With the 4 week start it makes sense to rush some things, siddd5 said. Definately a key thing will be setting up an actual organized resistance. To me that is the big thing. They have 29 ships and right now they are talking about a resistance of 5 people and the new group of anti-v v's.

Figuring that the fbi agent is a star of the show, it was a clue that they would not figure out that she was at the meeting and the one that killed her partner. THe doctor helping him remember things had to be part of the resistance.

You know, with the whole plot of good Vs against bad Vs, the concept of some of them hiding for a while, and the humans being in the middle, this kind of reminds me of Revenge of the Fallen.

While I know Morenna Barracine and Laura Vandermoot must be far apart in age, there is no way they could pass for mother and daughter. I guess lizards age well.

They are wearing 'skin suits'. Who knows how old they are or what they really look like?

One of the Vs worked on the game Mortal Kombat. This is why Reptile is in the game. He was trying to warn us the Vs were coming.

Does that mean we can look forward to Anna taking off someone's head with her tongue and satisfactorily rubbing her stomach afterward?

FWIW, and I won't spoiler tag as it is pure speculation, I think this series might be going down a different path than trying to turn people into food. The teaser for next week
Spoiler:
seemed to hint that they want to use humans in experiments, but to what end and goal I have no idea.

IIRC, he was supposed to be the former leader of the 5th column, presumed to be dead.

WTF! Not all of us have seen the original series and know how that one played out, and since we don't know yet whether this one will go in the same direction that's a pretty dick move to spell it out.

Well there's only a five year difference between the two actors so yeah.

I meant no offense and apologize, but since there is no proof that this one will take the same direction, it is still merely speculation in my mind and no need for spoiler tags. I honestly feel revealing bits about the other series isn't spoiling anything for this one, as it is it's own animal (no pun intended) and while bits are there, no major twists have remained the same.

Scott Wolf doesn't bother me on the show - it's the kid and his friend that are annoying as fuck. They need to kill them off next week.
