i love january jones, but wow shes not a good host. u can tell shes very nervous and keeps laughin when u can tell she shouldnt... however, that grace kelly skit had me dying! :lol:

i was also enjoying abby elliot as 'joan' from mad men as well in the beginning :drool: haha

I'm usually pretty accepting of the fact that SNL is rarely very good, and that I usually only pull a few moments out of the show that make it worthwhile, but this may very well be the setup for the best train wreck I've ever seen. JJ has been absolutely atrocious thus far. Wow. And I'm usually a pretty big SNL apologist.

Yeah, she is awful. The Grace Kelly was funny... she couldn't even get through it without laughing though.

The singing of the Mad Men theme was pretty funny as well as Abby Elliott as June. I miss Michaela Watkins' impersonation of Hoda.

Nope, not good but the party instructional video was hilarious. I had to keep rewinding because I was laughing and kept missing things.

I thought it was weird that JJ hosted SNL, while Fred Armisen is now married to Elisabeth Moss (Peggy on Mad Men).

Elisabeth Moss met Fred Armisen the night Jon Hamm hosted SNL last year - at the last minute they needed someone to play Peggy in the Mad Men skit due to Amy Poehler going into labor. Jon Hamm called Moss to play herself and that is how she met Fred. They married a year from the day of their meeting. (the things you learn watching the View!)

I liked the cloud skit just for the WTF? look on Sudeikis' face after she said anything.

She was an odd choice to host just because she's never shown any acting chops at all. Betty is written rather wooden and emotionless and she has Jon Hamm to do all the heavy lifting.

Wow, so far all I'm liking is the nice big asses and curves in the red dresses at the beginning and during WU. Poor Host-girl seems very nervous.

Wow, I can't believe they're doing the Kathy Lee bit after firing the other chick. I know the bit was always Wiig's and all about Kathy Lee, but still....-ohbfrank-

I don't understand why kristen wiig is in so many sketches. She is the complete opposite of funny, and seems like the female Dane Cook (untalented, yet has a career). I have heard the Lorne considers her the funniest and best thing on SNL now. Is he addled? Does he embrace a post modern definition of funny where unfunny is actually funny?

It also felt like they really didnt know what to do with JJ, aside from play on her resemblance to Grace kelly. What was the point of even using her in the Mr Hyde sketch?

Yeah, she sucked from the get go... that wasn't part of the skit, she seriously didn't know what camera to look at for her part. January Jones was probably one of the worst SNL hosts I've ever seen in recent memory, just fucking terrible. I LOVE Mad Men but don't think she's necessarily anything special and this certainly didn't change my mind.

I thought the Rear Window sketch was fairly funny but went on too long - I did however think Sudekis' Stewart was great and I loved the lighting for when they were shooting - did a great job of making it look like Rear Window.

Best line of the night was when Armisen said "I like Peggy" in the monologue. And to now discredit my opinion, I really like Kristen Wiig, even if her schtick can get old, she is one of the funnier women on SNL, hands down.
