V (Original, Final Battle, TV Series) ---> 3 day marathon on SyFy (11/1-11/3)
Looks to be a 3 day marathon kicking off with "V: The Original Mini-Series" starting @ 12:30pm EST on Sunday 11/1. Continues later today with "V: The Final Battle", then Monday 11/2 starting @ 8:00am EST kicks off the oft-maligned original 1984 TV series and finishes the series on Tuesday 11/3.
in case anyone wanted their fix before the updated premiere.

Thanks for the heads up!
I've been trying to find a free (legal) way to watch the original run, I've never seen it beyond the initial miniseries.

I am tuning in between games, though they all seem to air ads at the same time. Come to think of it, I can't recall a cable channel that does more ads that SyFy. Everytime I change to it that seems to be all that's on.

Lame that this isn't in 1:85 as the DVD's, looks like their using the old nbc tv transfers.

Awesome 80s sci-fi cheese. Love Michael Ironside. Love Faye Grant in the bodysuit. Love Jane Badler swallowing the rodents.

It's too bad this and other forums weren't around in 1984. I would have loved to read the reactions on here to the "starchild saves earth by glowing" finale.

I watched the original on DVD a few months back. Exciting stuff that completely runs out of steam by the 2/3rds point.

Watching this reminds me that the world needs more Michael Ironside. Has Tywin Lannister been cast for the Song of Ice and Fire series, 'cause Ironside would be perfect.

I DVRed this and finally got through V and The Final Battle last weekend. I haven't watched this since I was a kid, but it holds up pretty well. I remembered some of the "iconic" scenes (Dianna eating a mouse, Donavon fighting with the Visitor and pulling his skin off, etc), but I guess when I was a kid I totally missed the "Nazi's in America" theme. It was nice to see a decent conclusion, although I have to admit the

It's probably been 25 years since I read the novelization, but I recall it being a little more plausible; Elizabeth simply rewrote the destruction software so it was caught in an endless loop. Starchild hacking. But I guess that doesn't play on TV.
One thing the original had that the new one needs -- more Faye Grant in tight bodysuits. (Well, it's been 25 years, maybe not *her* anymore.)

Stephen Collins became better looking with age, as well. His face has character now, as opposed to the bland look of Star Trek: TMP.
