Wiig is definitely talented and very versatile.
The problem is that she's simply being used too much, and many of those times in annoying reoccuring skits.
I have a problem with seeing her (as well as Bill Hader - who I also like) in so many mainstream movies lately. When I'm watching, I'm now expecting for one of them (or both) to just pop up out of nowhere.

Kristen Wiig doing Ethel Barrymore with a Drew Barrymore accent was the first time I've laughed at this show all season. But of course they had to ruin it by repeating the joke 19 more times much less effectively.
It's hard to understand this show. They attract A-list talent & I would assume writing for them is a prestigious job that pays well. And there must be funny writers somewhere within the vicinity of New York City. Yet this shit makes it to my TV week after week. How does this happen?

I watched SNL for about 30 minutes last night. It has got to be one of the worst shows on TV right now. I'd rather watch commercials than watch this. It is so incredibly unfunny that it actually made me angry for some reason. Good god its terrible. How does it stay on the air year after year? Its just amazing. sorry for the rant, back to not watching SNL again for the next forever.
Edit: I take that back. Its the second most unfunny show on TV. MadTV is the worst (if its still on, I dont even know).

I watched that hulu clip and thought, WTH? that's the worst impression I've ever seen. Then I realized I thought they meant Anna Friel from Pushing Daises.
Even after looking her up at IMDB just now, I have no idea who Anna Faris is.

Victoria Jackson is funnier than Wiig lol.
I liked the sketch at the end with Will Forte where he played the boyfriend of Drew with the glasses and the mop hair.
He did that character last season in the Will Ferrell episode in the funeral sketch.
Haders James Carville impression was funny.
This episode was not as bad as the season premiere.

When she was hired, a big deal was made about her celebrity impersonations, but they haven't used her very much for that on the show.

On one hand i can see the point in not overdoing it and turning it into Saturday Night Rich Little, but using her twice for a few minutes, out of three episodes is kinda being skimpy. Especially when they insist on opening with the pretty unfunny Obama impersonations every week.

Why was this night different than any other night?
Wonder if Justin Long will watch the reruns on Comedy Central when that wack Drew Barrymore dumps his ass yet again.
Sorry. Her track record with men is horrendous .... and talk about mileage.

My 5 year old son LOVES Gilly. He came in when we were watching SNL on Sunday afternoon and he sat and watched that skit and wanted to see it again. I think he loves the repetition of Forte saying "Gillllly" and her saying "Sorry."

Was it just me, or was Fred Armisen's Obama impression almost indistinguishable from his Larry King impression in this episode? I typically like Armisen, and think he's talented, but it seems like he's not putting in any effort anymore.

Starting last week, he's given up on the Obama "cadence" and is just reading the lines. Maybe it's out of protest because they're now making fun of Obama, I don't know.
