Parks and Recreation -- "The Practice Date" -- 10/08/09

Parks and Recreation

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Leslie goes on a practice date with Ann in preparation for her night out with Dave (Louis C.K.). Elsewhere, a sex scandal involving a local councilman unfolds, prompting Tom, Ron, April and Mark to see who can dig up the most dirt on each other.

Leslie going on a pratice date with Ann...WTF!! That should be funny.

An interesting interview with Rashida Jones about the show:

I think this might be the episode where everything really "clicks". I'm even finding the Ron Swanson character to be funny so far.

ETA: So much for the idea that they forgot Tom was married.

ETA2: Green card marriage! Brilliant!

ETA3: Riding lawnmower through Nordstrom! Yes, this is my favorite episode yet.

Loved Aubrey Plaza's character sad that no one tried to find any dirt on her. This show grows on me more every week.

Took it off my dvr before last nite. Ran out of patience ...

Is it me or did Amy Poehler hit a serious wall after having her kid?

The news reports were awesome too.

"Breaking news: It appears the mayor had sex in his limo with a prostitute both before and after his press conference regarding a four-way affair"

...or something like that.

I really like that poor bastard in the department that kept getting mroe and more dirt turned up on him.

I also really like Aubrey Plaza's deadpan delivery.

This is turning into one of my favorite shows. The whole part of them digging up dirt on each other was hilarious.

I love Rashida Jones as the straight person dealing with the others.

I think I saw the first or second episode last season. This was the first time I caught it since. Very funny episode and Amy was wonderful.

(paraphrased)
(looking down) "I think my sweater fused to my shirt in the dryer."
"I think it's a combined top."

Awesome episode. Best of the series so far.

And even though that was real danish (badly pronounced) that's not what we call it.

Maybe it's just that you're used to seeing her doing sketch comedy where she could be outrageous and her characters didn't have to have much grounding in reality.
Here she has to play a character that could believable exist in the real world, although I'm not sure how believable it is that Leslie Knope could function in the real world.

Re: Parks and Recreation -- "The Practice Date" -- 10/08/09

I have enjoyed every episode prior to this one, but this episode was hands down the best. I think the show has really hit its stride and found its groove; hopefully it doesn't get canceled and will continue to grow. The addition of Louis C.K. is great too; I love his character and the way he interacts with Leslie. Ansari continues to impress as Tom; everything he says/does is golden. Loved Offerman's alter-ego and the guy that kept getting "dirt" dumped on him by everyone else.
