Although not a straight up joke in the traditional sense, I always found Mulder's porn addiction on the The X-Files to be quite funny. Especially when it would be randomly put in a scene for no good reason.

This was by far my favorite running joke on AD. Which is saying something cause that show had tons of good ones (many mentioned here). But each time someone would casually drop in their chicken impression was hilarious.

Nice call on Nessman. I immediately thought of "Norm!" too.

Thanks for the AD and WKRP reminders everyone! I know it probably won't happen, but I'm still hoping for a complete WKRP on DVD someday.

Or even the absence of it: when they're doing the weigh-in for their Biggest Loser thing and Dwight is stuffing doughnuts into people's mouths saying "you don't have to swallow, just hold it in your mouth." The camera immediately swings to Michael who has apparently missed it. Jim looks at him and asks "Nothing?"

In the same vein of gags, in the series finale of Star Trek TNG when the Future-Geordi comes up to Future-Picard in the vineyard and starts going on about "the plasma thingy is all out of alignment and some sort of silly thing" and they both share a laugh about all the series' techno-babble over the seasons.

Agent 13 on Get Smart. Always hidden in mailboxes, airport lockers, etc.
The sliding bedroom door on Green Acres
The doorbell on Beverly Hillbillies
Gladys Kravitz seeing something while peeking through the window on Bewitched
The signs on the batcave equipment on Batman
The cannon on F-Troop
Hogan's Heroes-when Schultz walks in to barracks and sees people who aren't supposed to be there, then turns around and leaves without saying anything pretending he didn't see it.

My favorite was nailed by the OP, of course. Love the Garelli bit.

Jimmy's lust for Dave's mom would be #2 on my list of Newsradio running jokes.

I am hoping that the jury duty bit on 30 Rock will be used often enough to make it a running joke.

For years on Saturday Night Live, whenever there's a scene in the hallway, there's always a showgirl, a llama, and Abraham Lincoln in the background.

The tradition continued just this past weekend:
