Flash Forward -- New Series -- "No More Good Days" -- 9/24/09

Synopsis:
Spoiler:
Really looking forward to this show.
The show was created by David S. Goyter (Blade, The Dark Knight) and Brannon Braga and the Pilot was written by both of them. Goyer directed it.
For those of you who aren't fans of Braga, he will not be involved with the show on a day to day basis due to a conflict with his contract on 24.

Very positive reviews in all three major NYC dailies, including these comments from the NY Times:
" In the years since 9/11, producers have found rich thematic material in the arguments for and against preordination, resulting in series like “The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” “Lost” and now “FlashForward,” which begins in such a spirit of bracing suspense that I am challenged to recall another pilot that lured me so quickly into addiction.
Like so many contemporary television thrillers, “FlashForward” works just as powerfully as a domestic drama as it does as a mechanism of apocalyptic intrigue.
“FlashForward” has the sobriety and charge of the best, early days of “24” but builds its tension more gracefully and feels reluctant to be get subsumed by its own philosophizing. And like “Battlestar Galactica,” its has a presumed message that is humanistic and uplifting: No single messiah can save us; it takes a village to save the world."
Sure sounds like a winner!

Everything Goyer has directed has sucked complete ass but I'm hoping this will be an exception.

I'm giving it shot, but the premise sounds pretty hokey. I assume that ABC is hoping that this will be their long-term fill-the-Lost-void show.

I've been intrigued by this and am looking forward to it, but haven't the past few years shown people are done with serialized dramas outside of the established franchises(24, Lost)?

I DVR'd this, have not watched it yet, but just the concept of this show seems like it would be an awesome mini-series. I'm afraid this will just be too long a dragged out with out a satisfying conclusion.

I read the book Flashforward recently and really enjoyed it -- but like others have said, this would make a GREAT mini-series, but I can't imagine what they're going to do to make this a great ongoing series.
Plus in the book, the Flashforward gives everyone glimpses 20 years into their future...not the 6 months the show is running with.
I'm going to watch it, and hope it turns out well

I haven't been really excited about a show in a long time. I have very high hopes for this one, hope it doesn't dissappoint.

I'm definitely on board for this one. Let's hope it doesn't go the way of Invasion and that other show with the seven people connected due to a bank robbery.

Shit, I didn't know Dominic Monaghan was in this. Maybe I haven't seen as many previews as I thought, but I don't recall seeing him in any of them?
Really looking forward to this as well.

ABC is going to be showing the pilot again on Friday!
I just thought I'd point that out because I was wanting to watch this tonight, but I realized I'm already recording all I can at that hour. Thursday has become a very competitive night, so I'm sure I'm not the only one who has conflicts. I moved the guide forward 24 hours and there it was listed to be reaired, along with Modern Family and Cougar Town, for what that's worth.

I wish this was on at 9. Office is also on at 8. I caught the 17 minute preview of episode 1 on Hulu, and it was really, really cool. I think this is going to be a great series!
