I thought it definitely got better as the short season went on. I think a lot of that had to do with not ALL of the focus being on poehler (i still don't like her that much, but i'll be watching season 2).

I"m also a huge fan of Ron's Mustache and facial expressions. I swear, he steals scenes with just one fed up look.

I just got caught up on Hulu.com with the last 2 episodes from last season. I was procrastinating all summer long.
I thought last season ended on a really strong note and IMO Poehler seemed to get more comfortable playing Leslie.
Rashida Jones character was definitely my favorite supporting character.
I think the last few episodes from season 1 were strong enough to make me come back to season 2.

from what i read, the writers are getting more comfortable writing for Amy, so that's a good sign. if it starts as strong as it ended last year, i'll be happy.

I am reluctantly back for the start of this season. It isn't quite as awkward as it was last year based on this episode, but it seems to really want to comment on red state America without bothering to understand red state America. They need to pick up as many writers with experience on King of the Hill as quickly as they can if they really want to take the show down that road.
It's hard to say how long I will be around. I'm getting tired of the SNL Thursday stuff already, and it's going to be awfully tempting to leave this on my DVR rather than watching live if its lead in is something I am not buzzing about. Its fate may depend on its Community lead-in.

Yeah the Gay Penguin thing is a preachy story rehash from a "Will & Grace" episode and as soon as the marriage ceremony was over I knew the Gay story would pop up. But I still think P&R handled the rehash well.
