I think this show suffers the same thing The Office suffers from. It's fantastic in a half hour sitting, but the hour long episodes seem to drag out and aren't nearly as funny.

Last season also when they did two episodes a night, it was too much. They should stick to one 30 minute episode each week.

But it's still great to have the show back! Last season's first half has some of my favorite episodes, the second half of the season got a little lazy...

Cant say I agree. Then again I usually watch 3 or 4 episodes at a time on DVD.

DVR warning: my onscreen guide says it runs from 10:00 to 11:04 pm EST.

Also, if you have an Xbox 360, there’s some free “Sunny” stuff on Live – theme, gamer pics, etc. It’s kinda cool to have mine decked out with the gang and Green Man as my pic.

Can't wait. I have no problem with hour-long episodes. I can sit down and watch almost an entire season in a day and not get tired of it, so one hour is really not pushing it as far as I'm concerned.

Also, I think the two-parters are great, so I'm not worried. The more Sunny, the better.

I want to say no since I believe the show is still working on a shoestring budget. Although the Christmas episode (only on direct-to-video) is going to be on Blu-ray so who knows...

Futon Critic as well as the FXNetwork site lists this as only being half-hour, and the Archer pilot airing at 10:30.

this is 2 episodes just like last year. TV Guide lists the 2nd half hour as: "Denise Reynolds: An Erotic Life"

I believe the show will be in HD this year. I went to the NIGHTMAN COMETH LIVE last night in NYC and they showed an episode and it was shot in widescreen. HILARIOUS

They've been doing the two episodes a night since season two, however, it seems like they'll only be doing one new episode a week with the second episode being a repeat.

For those of you who don't want to see the episode titles for this season, we will have these gems:
Spoiler:
The Gang Exploits the Mortgage Crisis
The Gang Hits the Road
The Gang Gives Frank an Intervention
Mac and Charlie Write a Movie
The Waitress is Getting Married
Mac and Dennis Break Up
The Great Recession
The World Series Defense
D.E.N.N.I.S.
The Gang Reignites the Rivalry
Paddy’s Pub: Home of the Original Kitten Mittens
The Gang Wrestles for the Troops
A Very Sunny Christmas

Bring it. One of the few television shows I still look forward to.

Looks like it is at least on DirecTV. At least it is widescreen. Just happy to have it back on.

Funny episode(I liked how they took shots at their own writing style and were more of the mean but realistic humor of s1 and s2) but making it seem like an hour long episode and hiding this "archer" show was stupid.

Jimmy James 09-17-09 10:13 PM

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - "The Gang Exploits the Mortgage Crisis" - 9/1

The whole marketing campaign for the Archer show reminds me of a poorly done imitation of Cartoon Network or G4. That said, it wasn't more painful than Parks and Recreation so it might get a shot.
