And if someone says this is a spoiler, this was mentioned in an episode from years back. So it's your own damned fault for not watching.

How were they? I only watched the pilot to SJA, thought it was a cute show, but not for me. However, I plan on checking it out for The Doctor. I'm really getting sad that Tennant is almost done.

While this 2-parter isn't exactly a waste of time, it is kinda meh.

SJS has had a recurring villain over the run of her series. I think this two parter is made just a bit better if you've seen those other appearances and know who he is.
The first part was pretty meh, yes. The second part was much better.

Not DW news per se, but some huge news on David Tennant's next role--it'll be across the pond on a little network called NBC.

Very exciting news, although of course it'll be damn depressing if the show gets cancelled early on. Wonder if he'll be able to adjust to an American TV schedule. Although as the article mentions, Hugh Laurie was able to do it.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – No longer will American TV audiences be asking doctor who?
Popular British actor David Tennant, best known for playing the title role in the BBC's long-running sci-fi series "Doctor Who," is set to make his American television debut as the title character in NBC's hour-long pilot "Rex Is Not Your Lawyer."
The comedic legal drama centers on a top Chicago litigator (Tennant) who begins suffering panic attacks and takes up coaching clients to represent themselves in court.
NBC green lighted the project in August, about two years after it was first developed, and had been trying to find a lead actor for several months until Tennant came along and nailed the part. Tennant, a theater and TV actor, rose to fame playing the mysterious alien time-traveler at the center of "Doctor Who" for the past five years. His performance as the Doctor has been often rated as the top in the franchise's 46-year history.

Bear in mind that this is just a pilot. Very few of those go on to be picked up as series. It's more than likely it'll never see the light of day.

New trailer for WoM is up: http://bit.ly/3hiGA3
Even the damn voice over at the end has to rub "it" in.

Yeah right? Look at how well his predecessor Christopher Eccleston fared on Heroes. If he thought DW schedules were grueling, wait until an American network's 22-24 episode per season schedule sets in!
I think I will stall on trying to see his final two episodes knowing that they will be released together on Blu-ray in February.

Mine is downloaded, waiting, and ready to go as soon as the kids are to bed! Can't wait. I don't even care if it's bad Doctor Who, I just need something new!

Very good episode. Starts out typically (Doctor arrives on scene just as something weird begins happening), he had knowledge the others don't about their fates, and must decide what he is or isn't going to do about it. The last 30 minutes was very exciting and dark, and shows us a side of the Doctor I haven't seen since the Christmas episode with the spider lady. Looks like it leads right into the Christmas special. The trailer for that is excellent, with a lot of familiar faces popping up.

Thought it was terrible. The little bits with his superiority and darker side at the very end was neat but the rest was poorly executed.
Its really a question of tone. Waters of Mars should have played for horror but instead there was the same old RTD weepy stuff, the direction was flat, and the overbearing music and lame action beats were too bombastic suspense oriented.
A real shame. They could have gone for super creepy and paranoid but instead it was just typical NewWho, an episode that is basically 75% running around from room to room while shouting.

I was unimpressed except for the very end when the light bulb clicked that he is the last Time Lord and he can throw his established ethics away. That was interesting and a good set up for the consequences to come.

A bit dissapointed at not learning more about the baddies, the rocket robot, and some obvious scientific gaffes, but overall I enjoyed it. I'm going to be rewatching those last ten minutes right until the next special.
Wonderful and terrible at the same time.

Just got done watching it and didn't think it was that great. The last 5 minutes saved it for me though. Hopefully we'll see Wilfred knock the Doctor down a peg or two in the next special.
