The promo confirms that earlier photo of the show that Cleveland is indeed living next to a family of Bears.... :wtf:
|
Wow. Just wow.
A spin-off of a show killed by the network and resurrected by fans  |
That song was pretty catchy

I am (was?) a huge Family Guy fan from day 1, but it seems like this last season was unbearably unfunny. Hell, my GF stopped watching it altogether. |
I don't understand why a spin-off wasn't made with a stronger supporting character. It's known that Quagmire is one of the most-popular characters, so WTF? Looks lame.

I want to see a show about Mayor West!
|
I'd watch a spin off show about that family of bears.

*goes back to reading Grape Soda Today mag* I recommend The Grape Drink Quarterly. Not as topical, but since it's a quarterly it's a bit more in-depth. |

catchy theme song. I'll give the show a shot - I'm not a huge King of the Hill fan,,, so I'm grateful to have a FG spin off rather than a KOTH spin off.

The new EW has an article stating that this show is the only new network show in the fall to be anchored by a minority character. They seem to do an 'expose' like this every couple of years or so, but it struck me as funny that there's a full page picture of Cleveland accompanying an otherwise serious article.

Who is neighbor? Bear is neighbor! How can this be?

Maybe it is me, but I have enjoyed American Dad more than Family Guy lately and it appears I may enjoy this more than Family Guy too.
And i agree with whoever posted that pre-canceled Family Guy was great. It was. Now, not so much. |

Posted: Mon., Nov. 10, 2008, 8:45am PT Fox pushes back 'Cleveland Show' Series unlikely to bow this season By CYNTHIA LITTLETON Fox has pushed back the premiere date of "Family Guy" spinoff "The Cleveland Show" to fall of next year. Skein based on the Cleveland Brown character had been announced at Fox's upfront as a late spring premiere for this season. But that was mostly for PR value and to get advertisers jazzed about Fox's sked. Internally, there was little doubt among Fox brass that the animated series would need more time for development and production and was highly unlikely to bow this season. At the same time it confirmed the delay, Fox said it has ordered another nine segs of "Cleveland," giving the 20th Century Fox TV production a full 22-episode order for the 2009-10 season. In addition, pundit and Huffington Post editor in chief Arianna Huffington has joined the show's voice cast in a recurring role. "Cleveland" is co-created and exec produced by Seth MacFarlane, Rich Appel and Mike Henry, who provides the voice of the title character. While I'm a big McFarlane fan, I hesitantly look forward to "The Cleveland Show", I'm concerned that he may be stretching himself too thin. "Family Guy" simply isn't as funny as it was before its 2002 cancellation. *Maybe* because he's been doing double duty with "American Dad!". However, "American Dad!" has became faaaaaaaar better written and FUNNY than "FG". My biggest fear is that "The Cleveland Show" will take away the talented writers from "AD!" and all 3 shows will be slogging along. On the other hand, my belly laugh quotient may increase another 33% on Sunday nights! If Dick Wolf can handle that kind of juggling act, who knows? |

There's a very good chance it was mentioned in this thread, but I didn't read the whole thing. Why Cleveland? Why not Quagmire?

The Cleveland Show -- Family Guy spinoff
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...dShowPromo.jpg
I found a couple of websites that had the Pilot Episode of The Cleveland Show. Not sure if I am allowed to post a link, but if you search around Google you can find it very easily. If someone lets me know that I'm allowed to post a link I will, but otherwise I'll leave you all to your own devices. My thoughts: Obviously the family is modeled after the Griffins, but I can live with that as most television families follow a certain format in terms of composition and roles. The supporting cast (Talking Bears, Redneck, and Short Guy that Lives with His Mom) seemed alright in the small part they played in the pilot, but time will tell whether they get old (which I suspect they will). All in all, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. It was a more plot-driven episode with a few non-sequiturs and flashbacks. If they stick to developing the characters and basing the stories on them, rather than relying almost exclusively on nonsensical references, this might turn out to be okay. Still, I'd rather have had more King Of The Hill than this and it does disappoint me that Seth MacFarlane has taken over the Sunday night line-up. |

Where's Cleveland Jr?

Wait, this is for real? I kept hearing about it and just assumed it was a joke.
