Lame episode.
The scenes in the first part with the 4 of them if the office were good for a few chuckles, but the case was uninteresting.

BLAH...
and what is with Brandi and her hair... and she need to learn to cry better (acting wise)
I was wainting for her to call in her boyfriend the shut down the hospital when they hesitated the 'help' her.

Even though most of the episodes this season have been mediocre to disappointing, I love Mary McCormack too much to give it up on. She and Fred Weller are still keeping me interested.

Watched this tonight.
Not a horrible episode, but not memorable either. I think the writers need to spend a month or 2 at the U.S. Marshall's office and research some cases for potential stories. I'm sure there are thousands of cases that could be translated into compelling stories.
This was not an interesting case at all. The reveal at the end about the "son" being part of a human trafficking ring made no sense. I just didn't understand how he could concoct such a fairy tale story from the "emotional trauma" that he apparently suffered.
I thought the psychiatrist being interested in Marshall was kinda cute. But, it fizzled out at the end.
Didn't get the point of the Brandi subplot.

Mary had her moments in this episode ("...brings me ball punching distance to you."), and I liked the psychiatrist and a few other bits, but overall the story was a snoozer. If all the character stuff had been wrapped around a compelling story it would have been a pretty good episode.
About 30 seconds into Brandi's second scene with the bum (and I counted the one where she just waked by) I started leaning on the FF button and I continued for the rest of her scenes. I have no regrets.

One thing that bugged me is how quick Mary et al assumed that the son didn't exist. When they first could not reach the wife and son, wouldn't the US Marshals first assumption be that the bad guys took them as leverage so that the guy would not testify? They knew how much his "son" meant to him. I thought that would have been a much more plausible and entertaining direction for the episode than the fake son story.

I thought the episode was just okay. Clearly the writers are trying to script more character development for everyone but failing. There is no arc (that I can see anyway) like there was last season. The Brandi story was completely unrelated to anything.
That aside, I will continue to watch it. It isn't like there's a whole lot of new, better programming on. Besides, the Marshall Mann character still makes me laugh.
