Am I the only one that was dumbfounded that the guy got a gun into the airport? I can't even get a can of soda in but a gun is no problem?

I picked up the DVD yesterday. If any of you plan to pick it up, I encourage you to watch Disc 6 and the documentary called "24-7: The Untold Story"
Great 15+ minute documentary that chronicled the hell all the writers went through to create season 7. There is interviews with Gordon, Manny Coto, Evan Katz, David Fury and even Brannon Braga.
Basically they talk about the early conception of season 7 and the bazillion different drafts/re-writes they went through to get it right and they also talk about how the 24: Redemption movie came about. The WGA strike is also mentioned and how that affected the season.
One of the best parts was the hidden camera in the writers room.

True, but I thought the interviews were pretty good. The writers were pretty honest and especially when they were talking about coming off season 6, which they even said wasn't good.

Is there any information out there as to what re-writes were done to the last 6 episodes of the season? I remember reading that they were initially unsatisfied with the way it turned out and re-did it.
P.S. - Are we ever going to learn what happened to Charles Logan & Wayne Palmer? I mean, it's not like we're trying to track down and get closure on Behrooze or the Cougar here... these are previous Presidents of the USA on the show...

It took seven seasons, but the writers finally gave Kim a decent line:
When her cell phone wouldn't work and she yelled "Dammit!" as only a Bauer could. I laughed so hard I nearly fell off the couch.

But since Jack ended up finding out by the end of that same episode that Tony had killed Larry, I'm not sure what else they rewrote that required a 2-week shutdown in production.
It's still a cool documentary though. The writers' candor about the disaster known as Season 6 was refreshing. And it was interesting to hear all the different ideas they went through before settling on what became Season 7.

Finished watching the season. Given how critical I was of the Tony heel turn I thought it ended about as well as it possibly could. I'm glad I didn't delete the series off my DVR like I was tempted to do on muliple occasions over the last month.
I didn't like Tony as the villain mainly he was an established character with years worth of history on the show. Nothing in his past personality showed him capable of being a mustache twirling villain. Jack calling him scum or filth or whatever in the last episode really kind of pissed me off. STFU Jack. He saved more lives than you did today, and he's saved your ass on more than one occasion in the past. I can definitely buy Tony as a gray character, and I'm glad they kept him alive.
I have to agree with the earlier post though. How many levels are there to the David Palmer assassination? My take...there's one more level higher beyond Wilson. [sarcasm]The next man is Richard Walsh. You see I never bought that he died in the second episode. No one in 24 dies that easily, and he tells Jack he can only trust the one compromised person at CTU (Nina wasn't compromised until the writers wrote themselves into a corner later in the season). Mark my words, he's still alive and controlling EVERYTHING.[/sarcasm]

Anyone else surprised that they only showed the vice president once during that season and it was in a very shady way?
Maybe he's the 'top level'.
= J

Yeah I was wondering why they introduced him at all. The 5 minutes he was shown he seemed to be "up to something" but since he was never shown again there was absolutely no reason whatsoever to introduce that character.
