Some really tough choices this round.

#1 - It may get closer than this easy win over Taxi, but I don't think I'll vote against Arrested Development this tournament.
#2 - Love The Twilight Zone, but The X-Files by a bit.
#3 - Appreciate most of The Simpsons, but Oz I guess.
#4 - Abstain. Have The Wire complete set waiting for a rainy month. I know I'll pick it over Married With Children after watching it though.
#5 - South Park still makes me laugh, but I'll vote The Sopranos.
#6 - Homicide is the best drama ever. 24 is fun, but I can't imagine that all the people who voted for it have actually watched Homicide.
#7 - Meant to click Futurama, but The Shield is almost as awesome.
#8 - Love Jeopardy, but easily pick Star Trek here.

I don't know, could be somewhat close. X-Files has 41 votes against very good competition, and AD only has 53 against the weakest competition in this poll (imo).

That is true, but Arrested Development seems to have a very cultish following, and while X-files did as well, the last few seasons of that show (And horrible 2nd movie), might have killed that.

I just hope people think of the greatness of the first 4-5 seasons..and forget the drek that was the last few (In comparison to the first half of the series, it was still a fun show, with several episodes that were pretty good)

Taxi - Arrested development was terrible.
X-Files - Both great shows, but I grew up watcvhing X-Files, so it gets the win.
Simpsons - Although it is nowhere near the show it once was, it is better than Oz.
Married with Children - The Wire has to be one of the most overated shows in history.
Sopranos is easily better than South Park.
Homicide is the best drama ever on television, to paraphrase Trevor.
The Shield easily bests Futurama.
This last one I can't pick. I changed my vote in the poll several times before finally voting. In fact I think I may have voted for both.

1) Abstain; Taxi was enjoyable, but never a Favorite. And I'm almost sick of hearing about Arrested Development. I think being canceled helped that show's small cult following; one wonders whether another season or so might not have seen the writers' well dry up and cost the show its place on the audience's pedestal.

2) The Twilight Zone was always thoughtful and enjoyable. Nothing against The X-Files, but it never really grabbed my attention.

3) Abstain. Never cared for The Simpsons; never watched Oz.

4) Abstain. Never watched The Wire; hated Married...with Children.

5) The Sopranos was an easy pick, aided by my complete lack of interest in South Park.

6) Homicide: Life on the Street is Top Ten All-Time material. 24? Not so much.

7) Abstain. Never watched The Shield. Like Futurama, but not so much I'll vote for it against a show I never watched.

8) Star Trek has given us answers to questions on Jeopardy! Ergo, Jeopardy! needs Star Trek, while Star Trek does not need Jeopardy! I voted for Star Trek.

The longevity of a show shouldn't be a primary concern. Star Trek was only three seasons, but awesome. Arrested Development was only three seasons, but those three seasons were perhaps the funniest three in the history of sitcoms.
