There is no doubt whatsoever that this is coming back. This show has always been a hit for Fox and its survival has never been in doubt season to season.

I don't think there has been an official announcement but I would be surprised if it were not picked up. Besides getting good ratings, especially considering the way Fox moves it around, the network ordered half a dozen scripts for the next season a couple of months ago.

I agree that it would be easier to write off if it were just a regular episode. Although, with the lack of strong seasonal narratives on Bones, the import of a season finale compared to most dramas is diminished. But it does leave a bad taste in the mouth over the break.

For what it was, what struck me most was how little fun the cast seemed to be having. Usually they take opportunities like this to get a little crazy. Sweets got to sing, and Hodges and the blond intern seemed to be having fun with their characters. And maybe the black intern, although he was probably just happy not to be playing his usual up tight character. Other than that everyone seemed pretty by the numbers and if anything more bland than their regular characters.

Actually it hit a licensing issue apparently...so its not a sure thing. Fox did already order 6 episodes though.

Yes Licensing issue. 20th Century FOX TV produces the show, which is a separate entity from the FOX TV network. Believe it or not, the FOX TV network has to pay a licensing fee to 20th TV to get Bones, but it's believed to be considerably less than if the show were produced by a different studio like NBC/Universal or CBS/Paramount.

So 20th TV is toying with shopping Bones to another network to see if they can get a larger licensing fee, which obviously is not going to happen.

While I am aware of the different arms of these film/TV companies not having a direct connection, I wasn't aware that Bones was potentially a victim of these circumstances.

Bones is like a dependable utility player in that its ratings rarely suffer no matter where they plug in into the schedule.

I'll be the first to say it. I didn't hate this episode. I find episodes like this kinda fun, how they use everyone different but still keep some of their normal selves intact. Granted as a season finale, I'm not as fond of it, but I didn't think it was THAT terrible.

Pretty awful episode, although good to see Zach, and I got a kick out of the lab turned into a club, the stuffy black lab assistant as a PDiddy type, and the name of the band being Gorgamon.

I couldn't finish this episode nor could it hold my attention. I deleted it after seeing the Motley Crue cameo. Note, I did not watch the cameo but as soon I as a saw them appearing on the "stage." I stopped it and deleted it.

I get that Bones is a "lighter" procedural show compared to CSI and Law & Order but this was just stupid. Thanks guys for letting me know the ending was not worth putting up with the poorly written story.

Here's hoping next season, they try to keep the show more serious rather than attempt this again.

I didn't hate the episode, but I really hated that it was the season finale. Wish they could have done it as the penultimate episode or something. Still, not my most disappointing finale of the season.

I actually like it a lot. Rarely am I disappointed in the show like others I watch.
