I think they would have done better but just getting away from the whole Buy More plots which usually sink the show but I am looking forward to the return. This is definitely a better show than say Heroes, which gets all the special treatment.

Buy More and the family aspect is what keeps this show grounded and realistic. If it weren't for that I think the joke would be on the show, not the show making jokes of other things. It would be beyond cliche.

19 eps with a 2 hour premiere = full 22 episode season by my count. Makes me happy!
I am rooting for 2 more seasons after this at least. This show and all involved deserve a syndication gravy train. It would be the little gravy train that could...

Nope not correct. 2 hour premiere is 2 episodes back to back, on the Monday afterwards is another 1 hour episode. After that week, there will be 16 episodes left....Still 19.

Just doing semi-relevant nerd math in hopes for the show's well being in perpetuity and stuff.
I hope the show at least slightly improves ratings as folks discover it, to justify a couple more years. I didn't start watching until last July. My wife and I love it. We watched the first 2 eps online and bought season one, then watched season two online. It will be good to actually watch as this season unfolds.

Ah, I didn't know the premiere was 2 episodes. My point was that if a regular ep is 1/2 hr, this season looks to have at least 11 hours of programming, or 22 eps worth. That is how it would be looked at for syndication purposes. I get that it is actually 19.

Re: Chuck reportedly renewed for 3rd season (Official announcement Monday)
I had seen a short commercial preview during The Office last week, and just saw the longer preview on YouTube, and it made me even more psyched for the new season! I didn't pick up on Chuck until middle of the 2nd season after watching all the previous episodes. I must have watched them all again at least 4-5 times. I'm glad Joshua Gomez is back, it wouldn't be 'Chuck' without him. Yvonne Strahovski is looking absolutely stunning as always, and I also missed the comedy and ass-kicking of Casey! There are very few TV series I go crazy over, and Chuck is definitely one of them. I was bummed when I learned I'd have to wait until winter to see the new episodes but a 2-hour premiere will more than make up for it.
I'm curious to find out where the story line will go now, I'm assuming it will be about Chuck becoming a full-on spy and trying to take down whatever agency Fulcrum was involved in. The only hang-up that will be tough to explain is why Chuck and Casey go back to the Buy-More after quitting, lol.
Why it took this long for 'Chuck' to be renewed is beyond me! I can't wait!

Yvonne Strahovski site
Here you go.
I'll be getting the DVDs on the 5th and running through Season 1 and 2 before Season 3 premieres that Sunday night.

The wife asked me when this was coming back a few minutes before last Thursday's commerical aired. I think she is more excited about its return than I am.

This is one of the few shows my entire family loves to watch. Count me in with the group who think that the Buy More and family scenes are what make this show more than just a goofball spy comedy.

How Chuck handles integrating his spy life with his normal at-home and Buy More life definitely makes the show fun to watch.

Question: Now that it’s returning in January, Chuck me, spoiler God! —Scott
Question: There’s a $5 tuna foot-long with you and Mister Scooch’s names on it if you can give me any Chuck updates. —Jen
Ausiello: Can you make my half a veggie? If so, you’ve got a deal. Chris Fedak says the six additional episodes that NBC recently tacked on to Chuck’s season 3 total created an interesting storytelling challenge. “[We were faced with] the problem of either expanding the story we’re telling or taking the story and telling it more slowly. And what we essentially decided to do was tell more story. So we’re looking at the six episodes that have been added on as Chuck season 3.2.”
