What Cable Channels have you stopped watching in the past 5 years?
I have kind of lost interest in these channels below
ESPN Classic-No longer the same
E!-They don't show true hollywood storries of anyone interesting
MTV-"too many silly dating shows. One or two was find but now it's just ridiculous
HBO-not worth the $18.00 a month.
TV LAND may be on this list in Three Years

MTV/VH1----Lack of music videos
E!-----Stopped watching after Wild On! was cancelled and Brooke Burke left. I don't count the shitty Taradise crap that was supposedly it's replacement
HBO----Cancelled it after having it for 3 years and barely watching anything on it...including all the original programs.

VH1 and MTV- the most disgusting, vile reality shows on TV. Period.
E!- The Ryan Seacrest Channel? Uh, no thanks.
Nick at Night- since when has George Lopez been considered a comedy classic? Get back to black and white shows!
Game Show Network- your most popular show is Match Game. So what do you do? Take it almost completely off the air. Makes sense to me...

I don't have GSN but I heard they are moving away from showing old classic Game shows. Kind of like how TV land has moved away from Classic TV. And I'm addicted to George Lopez-lol But N@N is not getting any better I heard they are adding Everybody Hates Chris in the Fall.

I used to love that GSN show where Shandi Finnessey stood around looking hot for two hours. Good times.

Re: What Cable Channels have you stopped watching in the past 5 years?
I used to be a WB addict. Like my Television didn't change channels for a couple of years.
But lately, I've realized I only watch a single episode on CW ("One Tree Hill") and the rest of my watching is ABC, NBC and various news channels. I know I'm aging, but I can't help and thinking that the quality has gone down as well...

Re: What Cable Channels have you stopped watching in the past 5 years?
I've stopped watching most non-HD channels.
I used to watch a lot of Comedy Central, but now I only watch it for a very few shows. I know they now have an HD channel, but I don't get it. Also, when they lost the rights to SNL to E!, their non-original lineup went down the tubes.
But I used to surf all the channels, now I find myself limiting my search to my 47 HD channels. About the only standard def stuff I watch now is The Soup on E!, and ESPN Classic stuff.
I stopped watching CourtTV when it became truTV, the programming went downhill a bit. I also liked the Game Show Network, but that was a long time ago, when they had cool and unique originals and had a good selection of classics. When they started remaking old shows and showing reruns of millionaire, things went bad.

I stopped watching Comedy Central for anything other than the Daily Show; they used to have great original programming, I'm with Busey, American Body Shop, Halfway House, etc but they would always cancel them after a season.
Discovery was something I'd watch alot of, for the Monster shows and Mythbusters but it's a bit too formulaic so I weened off of it. And ESPN after the '03 and '04 baseball seasons became such a Red Sox/Yankees reporting network, it wasn't entertainment for me.
I think cable tv was really great in the 90's; E! had Kinnear and Henson for Talk Soup, Court TV was simply televised court cases with very good analysis, MTV/VH1 still had those "I love the 80's" weekend video marathons, Sportscenter actually reported on the game highlights and not on making news, and Sci-Fi, which I still watch, had fewer crap movies and more older stuff like War of the Worlds the Series.

If you want to see music videos they usually have about a six hour block of them in the morning. It's called AMTV: they show a mix of new and old stuff.

Re: What Cable Channels have you stopped watching in the past 5 years?
-VH1 and MTV about 10 years ago. Aren't these suppose to be music channels???
-ESPN Classic, the same repetitive stuff, as I guess they ran out of classic stuff
-TV Land/Nick at Night - With a combo of George Lopez, Family Matters, and 3rd Rock From the Sun, the great shows they used to put on at night are gone. I used to love to watch old reruns of Threes Company, Cheers, and All in the Family, but TV Land doesn't have a consistent lineup, and they usually put anything great on after 2AM.
-E Channel. They used to have a good variety of stuff, but like every other channel they caved to reality shows, and I can't stand that shit, it makes me feel society is coming to an end
-MSNBC. Use to love to get my political fix from MSNBC, but they have catered to the left wing zealots with a prime time lineup of Matthews, Olberman and Maddow. With Fox catering to the right, there is nothing for middle of the road people to get good political news, as I don't know what they are doing over at CNN.

Comedy Central
Bravo
E!
New to the list (thanks to BG now being gone):
Sci-Fi Channel (or is that SyFy?!)
How about new channels we've STARTED to watch?
I'm always flipping over to ID (Investigation Discovery) when nothing else is on...they run a lot of those "Dateline" specials where there's a murder mystery. I've always found stuff like that fascinating.

N@N no longer picks up shows from the 1980-89 era which is why it;s becoming slightly unwatchable. I don't like that N@N just added the NANNY which was a show that started in 1993

I'd say MTV/VH1 but I really stopped watching them about 10 years ago, or whenever Real World/Road Rules Challenge started being on 24/7.
Sci-Fi - still watch it sometimes but now that it's all terrible sci-fi originals, I barely turn it on.
A&E - Used to have good documentaries, now is just reruns of cop shows.
TLC - Haven't watched since it became the midget channel or whatever it is now. I used to like the older documentaries.

I stopped watching TLC when they got rid of the"dating story" and not the Baby or Wedding Story. I guess that was around 2003

All of them. I dropped cable a few years ago because all I was watching was Comedy Central and Adult Swim. I miss those channels, but not enough to pay $50/month for them.

Of course MTV is something I stopped watching a long time ago, but even if they went back to music videos, I'm still not sure I'd watch it. Look at the top 40 and ask yourself how much of that you would watch, because that's what they'd be playing.
TechTV was great, then G4 decided to come in and kill it.

AMC - Remember when they actually showed uninterrupted movies???
MTV - Remember when you could flip to their channel and always be within a few minutes of music?
BRAVO - Remember when they actually had quality programs?

AMC (except for Mad Men)- it's not just the commercials, it's the fact that they stopped showing interesting movies and have relegated themselves to newer fare (most of which couldn't be considered "classic").
A&E-remember when that stood for Arts & Entertainment
BBC America-not sure why. For a while I was enjoying the British soaps (Footballer's Wives, Bad Girls) but nothing has come along that has caught my fancy since. Still, wish they would broadcast in HD, that would get me back into the fold.
