Rescue Me -- "Jimmy" -- 4/28/09

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Lou wants to cooperate with Genevieve (Karina Lombard) because he's interested in her. She's interested in Tommy, who isn't particularly interested in her, but he does watch some 9/11 footage she gives him, and what he sees is very disturbing. Meanwhile, Mike's bar opens; Sean's back still hurts; and Sheila's psycho-dramaturge (David Pittu) tells her to "purge" herself of Tommy.

Sounds like a really busy episode.

Wasnt this a season 1 title?

I havent seen an episode yet, but these spoilers make the shows seem very shitty.

It wasn't a season 1 ep title, but there was an episode last season named "Keefe" which is(was?) Jimmy's last name. I haven't watched last week's ep yet and it's not up on Hulu yet but I might just go ahead and watch tonight's anyway. I'm very interested in Jimmy's character and although I like that they've kept the whole seeing ghosts angle in the background lately, I still miss it.

The conversation in the kitchen about Sean's problem was great.

"It happens to all guys, not me, but you"

Great episode! at Janet also thinking that it was a good idea for Colleen to have sex with Black Sean.

Anyone else think that this show is missing the drama it used to have?

It's like I was reminded that this shows produces great dramatic moments when Lou was yelling at Tommy in the firehouse. They need more of those moments.

Considering the show last season lacked the funny it's bringing this season, I can't say I'm missing the drama too much just yet.

This show has a great balance...either you are busting a gut or crying your eyes out. That conversation between Tommy and Ken is an excellent example of that*. This season has been great so far...amazing.

*As a point to note, I find the way they are handling the 9/11 story lines to be accurate. I live in NJ and I have a lot of friends (including myself) in the fire department and a lot that work in NYC. I knew a few people that were lost and what these guys are saying are conversations I have heard before. Art is truly imitating life here and they writers should be commended for their accuracy.

John Scurti is doing Emmy-worthy work this season. He's been great. Another great episode as well...that's 3-1 so far this year (only the season premiere was subpar).

good episode. i like the bar because now there is a second place where they can have scenes, instead of just in the house. mixing it up will be nice.

"why didn't you just give her my social security number"

"I don't know know your social security number"

So, Jimmy IS dead, right? Just not how everyone originally thought he died?

I'm wondering that exact thing. If the footage is to be believed, he didnt die in the first tower, as thought originally. Perhaps he saw it as an opportunity to fake his own death. Would the writers/producers write a storyline like that?

I don't think they can go down that path. That would mean that Tommy has been absolutely batshit crazy this whole time. Not a huge stretch, but I mean, I pretty much believed that he was talking to ghosts...

They supposedly did find his finger, enough so they could do DNA testing. I think it's just that he didn't die as originally thought.
