30 Rock -- "Jackie Jormp-Jomp" -- 04/16/09

30 Rock

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Saddled with a suspension from work, a lost Liz misses all the "TGS" chaos and seeks a way to bide her time. Meanwhile, film bigwigs mull over pulling the plug on Jenna's Janis Joplin movie, so Jack and Jenna try (just a little bit harder) to stir up buzz.

That Janis Joplin bio movie is a lost cause for Jenna IMO.

I am guessing that Jonathan is gone for a while (maybe the rest of the season) but will be back eventually. The only reason I can see for them losing him would be real budget cuts (and he can't be that expensive) or he's some sort of idiot who tried to ask for more money for a recurring bit part.

Totally. Nothing even comes close to this show these days when it comes to comedy, much less consistency.

I need to start watching these episodes twice. So many great lines, I can't even remember any now.

Jenna had the best quotes

Also the Tracey Morgan quote about Isaiah Thomas and sexual harrasement was funny.

I have to disagree w/ the consistency of the show. At its best, when 30 Rock is on its game its tough to argue its one of the funniest shows on television (last night's episode being an example of that). But I find that there have been more than just one or two episodes this season that have fallen pretty flat. Not coincidentally, those offerings tend to focus more on the fringe characters (as opposed to Liz and/or Jack).

I thought that this was a weak episode. It's not that it didn't have any laughs, just not as many as normal, and not to the same degree.

Or maybe his role on WEEDS needed him to take a few weeks off from 30 Rock. I liked this episode a lot - all the Jenna stuff was pretty damn funny.... I'm still laughing at Jackie Jormp-Jomp - hilarious name.

Tracy "I'm going to go take a nap. Wake me up in 10 hours."

BTW I was just reading a Maxim story about National Lampoon's Vacation and only now discovered that Jenna played the cousin that made out with her dad (Eddie).

Re: 30 Rock -- "Jackie Jormp-Jomp" -- 04/16/09

This one had quip after quip. I mean, for petes sake, "Heavy is the head that eats the crayons" is one of the best lines ever. And the kids choice awards having an memorial segment is inspired stuff.

I like it best when Kenneth doesnt have a subplot. I also have a hard time believing in his supposed heterosexuality

While funny I think it's by far the weakest season so far

Re: 30 Rock -- "Jackie Jormp-Jomp" -- 04/16/09

After Jenna's comment about "It has my real age, not my actress age" I was hoping Tracy might say something like "That's her actress age, she's probably damn near 50."

I'm going to have to throw in with movieking and Gunde. Last nights ep was, for me at least, the most laugh-free of the past season. Maybe the entire run.
