Shows you're ashamed (guilty pleasures) to admit you watch

This is it. the big confession thread. you might not tell your significant other, your friends or family, but you are admitting to the private community of DVD Talk. you don't have to defend or clarify.

just list the shows that given your pantheon of great shows you watch, there are certain ones that you have this thing to have to watch and enjoy no matter how reviled they might be to the viewing public. you watch with this almost embarrassed glee.

yes there was another thread, but the last post was '01. i thought a remake was in order.

Mine:
COPS
Keeping Up with the Kardashians

and i will sometimes pop in on
American Idol

Don't think I'm really ashamed to admit to any shows.

I guess maybe Ellen's talk show. I started watching it with my mom whenever I visit her and now I record it each day. I only end up watching it 2 or 3 times a week but I do enjoy it.

I've discovered "Two and a Half Men" in syndication. And I kinda like it...

Keeping Up with The Kardashians : If you ever ask me this in court I'll deny it. But watching that show is like experiencing the fall of civilization. I can't turn away. Historians will look at each episode and hold classes on how they parallel the final days of the western world.

Saturday Night Live

The only reason I still watch is for the political sketches and musical guests.

Not really anything... I would say Pokemon (the early seasons) but I'm not really embarrassed about it. It was a part of my childhood and hold's up fairly well.

Any Joss Whedon show. The show's themselves aren't bad, I just don't want to be associated with the over-enthusiastic fanbase.

Same here. I pretty much watched the whole run last summer and now watch the new ones on CBS. But I wouldn't be embarrassed to admit that I watch it.

I'll admit whatever, I don't care. I love the VH1 reality shows. I just checked out Tough Love and was entertained.

However I probably won't be checking out Daisy of Love.

I have admitted to watching the Bachelor which seems to be tough for guys.

I'll never say they are great TV, but they are good mindless fun.

Nothing. If I watch it, I'm not ashamed of it. :)

I don't watch it normally but I was watching Degrassi with a friend (same age, female) for 3 straight hours. Gotta admit... didn't dislike it but I wouldn't seek it out on a regular basis.

I have nothing in my season pass list I'm ashamed of, however on the rare occasion I stumble onto Dog: the Bounty Hunter, I'll watch.

How can you be ashamed to admit you watch COPS? That shit is gold!

I'd have to go with Rock of Love Bus (it's like a train wreck you can't avert you eyes from), Tool Academy (douchey guys never get old) and, because my gf loves it, Millionaire Matchmaker. I hate reality shows, but these are so bad that I feel slightly better about myself after watching them.

it is just so trashy and such a simple concept that keeps me glued to watching the demoralized state of our society. i almost get joy out of seeing the fates of human beings that i long to be anything but.

i would also add:

Beverly Hills, 90210 (old, thank god for Soap Channel!)
Melrose Place

I've been a viewer of America's Funniest Videos since day one, but I'm not ashamed of it at all.

Nothing. If I have it as a season pass and maybe own it on DVD, then I am proud to be a fan of the show.

obviously, you aren't that "ashamed" if you are mentioning it here, i mean more shows that aren't quite the norm given the plethora of highly rated shows you watch. ones that would maybe be the black sheep, not necessarily that you would be outcast for society for admitting liking it.

My kids have gotten me into all the Cartoon Network and Nick shows(Spongebob, Fairly Odd parents, ICarly, Ben 10, Yo Gabba Gabba, Danny Phantom). And the only one i usually will talk about with others is Ben 10, I guess i'm not ashamed off actually watching these since i don't usually watch them without my kids, except Spongebob, Ben 10, and danny phantom, but i still don't usually bring it up.

That's basically my attitude, although I watch hardly anything these days:

Current shows:

Lost
Mad Men
Dollhouse
Far, far too much European soccer

Watching on DVD:

The Shield
Gilmore Girls
Burn Notice
Chuck

L Word and Gilmore Girls.

Not so much ashamed about watching them, but they're shows that I would probably not cop to having watched if they ever came up in conversation.

I'd say I have not exactly "shame" but a guilty pleasure from watching "COPS" and "Intervention." Seriously, if you are having a bad day/week, there is nothing better than those two shows to make you say, "At least I'm not like those guys." And if you cannot watch them and say that, then you probably belong on the shows ;)
