Pretty good episode. All Hodges - all great acting by Voight. I like that he was worried about the blood on his shirt. Classy. Custom made shirt. Italian maybe? haha

Another episode that reminded me of The Rock. Thought Almeida might have to lay out green smoke.

***Aaron looks at Olivia. Thinks to self, damn she reeks of sex sweat*** He REALLY wishes he could play golf instead, even at midnight.

I really wish Chloe was laying intel to Almeida. I miss Chloe.

Bauer's eyes were freaky when he was convulsing. I did like the conversation regarding Kim though. I like references to the classic characters.

Supposedly, we still have a couple more weeks before she's back from maternity leave. I wonder what reason they'll manufacture for needing her. Janice seems quite capable.

Even the non-action oriented episodes are still entertaining.

I thought this was another solid and intense episode. The standoff with Starkwood at the beginning was very intense.

I like how Tony just managed to slip away even with all the Starwood guys watching with their guns drawn.

Did anyone notice this episode was written by Chip Johannessen, who was a former writer/producer for Moonlight, Millenium and Dark Angel. He was also credited as a Consulting Producer. Very good hire by Howard Gordon. I've enjoyed his past work.

Loved Hodges beating the shit out of Noles and throwing him over the balcony. Pretty one of the best 24 villain moments ever.

I agree that they are setting up Kim's return. I think Renee will probably contact her without Jack knowing as he's one stubborn SOB (still with his death wish)

Was that a 5 or 10 minute quickie by Olivia and the scumbag news producer? After she set her phone done, you knew the douche bag was screwed.

I'd call that one of the worse... scratch that, least entertaining episodes of the season, yet it was pretty good. That says a lot about the quality of the season.

So there you have it. We know how Jack will be saved. Kim (yawn) will get a phone call from Agent Walker and be told that Jack needs her to survive. I wonder if she's still with her brainwasher or if he's moved on gettin' it from even younger fabs.

Voight was amazing as always, the scene where he kills the chairman was fantastic. But the call to President Taylor and her stopping the attack was so lame. This storyline's overused as much as moles in 24. She should have just told him she doesn't negociate with terrorists and have Voight freak out and leave with what he could.

I liked the scene with Olivia, for a moment I thought she'd should to Aaron that she's being raped. That would have shut the dude up. But having her "take one for the team" like that makes her more of a biach. Well done. I wonder if their plans for her is to somehow incapacitate her mother and go for the presidency next season?

Voight is so awesome in this role. When he confronted Agent Moss at the warehouse and was being all smarmy and smug, all I could think about was how incredibly satisfying it's going to be when someone puts a bullet in his brain at the end of the season. Compare that to Season 6 when I don't even know who the bad guy was and just wanted it to end.

Aaron better uncover that the President's daughter is a scumbag and expose her, because if he's only there this season to get killed I'm going to be super pissed off.

Season 8 should take place entirely inside Jack's body, with scores of Bauer Stem Cells battling the evil virus cells.

A super-secret non-contageous bioweapon developed in Africa, and they have an "experimental treatment" for it? Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha! Well, I guess they can't kill off Jack.

to be fair, the disease wasn't top secret, just the fact that it was being weaponized for terrorist use.

The CDC and Joint Chiefs knew what they were talking about really quickly

Great episode with the exception of the President's daughter's storyline, which gets worse and more boring each week. Stop wasting time on this recycled, asinine subplot!

I was hoping the bioweapon would mutate Jack into an unstoppable zombie, a la Resident Evil. "Dammit, there's not enough braaaaains!!!"

if Kim does come back, someone will die.

Day 5 connection:
Spoiler:

If I remember correctly, when she reunited with Jack on Day 5 at CTU, she said something to her father along the lines of: "death always seems to surround her when he's around"

if the writers keep to that theme, someone should die. Or if the writers want to redeem Jack again, he will save someone's life and change his daughter's opinion about him.

Not only is the president's daughter annoying as fuck, she's a super slut.

I hope they cure Jack already. We need Jack in action.

I thought this show jumped the shark for me this season. When she called off the airstrike on the base... lame. I mean seriously, Voight sends her a screenshot of some sci-fi movie and all of a sudden she's all worried. And then the president's slutty daughter blackmails the reporter with a video of them having sex? Huh? That doesn't even make sense.

I'm still going along for the ride but this episode was the turning point for me.

Actually, the more I think of it, you're right. As someone else mentioned, this plot is tired and has been reused. How much better would it have been if she told Voight to fuck himself and continued with the airstrike? Hadn't he already snuck some of the weapon out of the warehouse? The show could still continue. They're called stalemates for a reason.

For that matter, why didn't she use long-range missiles? I'd like to see all of Starkwood obliterated, not just one building housing the weapon.

She wants him to believe that she's willing to swallow the poison pill and go down with him. I agree with the rest of what you said.

She also told him he's done in Washington OR she'll release the video. I don't know about anyone else, but if my career is already over either way, I'm definitely choosing the option that lets everyone know I nailed the president's daughter.

The president should have commenced with the airstrike.. and take out the whole Starkwood facility. Those missles have to still be on property, what's a few more casualties?

Would Tony have even made it out of there before the strike? It appeared to me he was still underground when the F-11's were less than 5 minutes away from destroying the building.
