Re: Breaking Bad - Season 2 Discussion

Speaking of suspension of disbelief, I really had a hard time with the idea that Tuco wouldn't be speaking Spanish to his Tio.

That said, I enjoyed this episode quite a bit.

Re: Breaking Bad - Season 2 Discussion

Just got finished watching the second episode and loved it. The uncle hitting the bell was one of the most intense scenes I've ever seen. Great stuff.

Yeah I love how they always show an object/scene that will show up later in the episode, kind of a teaser of what's to come. Also, another solid episode, I love how they keep leaving each episode on a cliffhanger.

Re: Breaking Bad - Season 2 Discussion

I just have to say that tonight's episode was probably one of the quickest episodes of TV that I've ever seen. I don't know why, but it only felt like about 20 minutes or so.

Re: Breaking Bad - Season 2 Discussion

Tio is hardcore gangster. Just when you'd thought you'd seen the last of him, he comes back with a scene stealing vengeance. If there's not an opposite phrase for "jumping the shark", then "shitting the floor" should suffice. It's not that that scene was any more noteworthy than any other - its just been one of many great moments.

I laughed after I realized that the brief nudity warning was for The Crantz's ass. Of all the things that have been depicted in this show, it seemed rather benign.

Breaking Bad is great and it's making Malcolm in the Middle reruns even more enjoyable.

Just when I was starting to lose faith in TV, then a show like this comes along and totally knocks it out of the park. Another solid episode, loved the brother in law interrogation scenes and I'm really liking the cinematography this season, loved them throwing the gas mask on the camera to cut to the next scene.

Re: Breaking Bad - Season 2 Discussion

I want a "Tuco Grill" paperweight. AMC should sell those on their website.

Does anyone else feel kinda sorry for Jesse? He seems like a decent guy, just lost. His parents have given up on him, he's been through hell for this meth with no money to show for it now, and it looks like next week Walt's gonna tell him he doesn't mean shit to him either.

Ummm No!

There are only so many 2nd chances you can give a drug addict -if you don't cut them off, they will bleed you dry (emotionally and financially) and then move on.

His parents did not seem like a-holes, and it looked like they tried many times to help him, but every time he walked all over them.

Re: Breaking Bad - Season 2 Discussion

How many episodes is this season supposed to be? I thought for a second there he was going to tell Skylar everything and then they would set up how to have her involved in keeping the secret. Also, I love the foreshadowing at the beginning fishing everything and Walt's glasses out of the pool. My prediction is

Spoiler:
The are cooking in the motor home, that is parked in the alley or near Walt's backyard, something goes wrong and the whole motor home explodes, leaving all the remanents in the pool. Including Walt's glasses which were left in there after his fight with Jesse.

Since the memory is fuzzy, the pool is in Walt's backyard right?

It's a good thing Jesse can jump fences with barbed wire at the top.

Skylar was kind of a bitch in this episode. She seems to have forgotten that Hank is dying - cut the guy some slack.

Oh and smoking while pregnant? Stupid, stupid woman

Re: Breaking Bad - Season 2 Discussion

I was thinking Walt was being a bit of a bitch.

All concerned about her going out like he has been doing when he should have just played it cool.

The lame ass way he was going on and on and on about the cell phone lie.

People who act like 'I just need a smoke' when stressed and etc. are indeed pathetic.

Re: Breaking Bad - Season 2 Discussion

How exactly was Skyler in the wrong and being a bitch? Walt is, in fact, lying to her (badly); he tells her he wants to talk about it, but then loads on more lies. He's been leaving without warning and not telling her where the past few weeks - Walt complaining about her doing the same thing is pretty hypocritical. (Though, yes, her smoking while pregnant is lame).

The entire episode was about the parallels between Jesse and Walt: while both complained about how they were being unfairly wronged (by Jesse's parents and Walt's wife, respectively), both brought it upon themselves, and were arguably getting what they deserved.

Re: Breaking Bad - Season 2 Discussion

But the difference is that Jesse has the ability to leap over a ~ 10ft. fence (with barbed wire on top) to steal his RV, which the guy just happened to leave the keys in.

Walt blew it.

Any man worth his salt - could see the bitch ass move Skyler was pulling - disappearing all the time.

If I was walt - I would use that time to go and cook some more

Well she was being hypocritical 'paying him back' like that. She doesn't know for sure that he's lying about anything and refusing to talk about it never works.
I'd buy it if Skyler knew what we know but she doesn't

Re: Breaking Bad - Season 2 Discussion

Man Walt is a dark, evil, SOB !!

He truly has cold part of his heart. I wonder if he plays all coy and innocent - or if certain situations bring out the cold / calculation part of his personality... but I am feeling less sympathetic for him the more time goes by.

That's what I was going to say. Actually, I'm becoming less sympathetic to all of the characters but Hank these last couple episodes. The wives are both huge bitches, Jesse's a little weasel, and Walt is really going overboard.

I loved the little back and forth about Plasma vs. LCD tv's.
