I will really be pissed now if Chuck doesn't get renewed, but Heroes does.

What can we say about NBC next year? I think you can pencil in The Office, the Poehler vehicle, and 30 Rock. Does My Name Is Earl continue? I haven't watched in half a season (though I do have them on my DVR). Let's say for the sake of argument that this is Thursday.

It sounds like Monday might be Heroes and Day One. We know Friday isn't going to be anything worth anything (same with Saturday). That leaves 4 hours on Tuesday-Wednesday and three on Sunday after football is done. That's a frighteningly small amount of programming, but it's not like I can name a single decent show other than Chuck to put in these slots. I guess they'll devote at least 2 hours to reality (likely that weight loss crap). What else airs? Do they keep a L&O or finally kill all of them?

So they're going to move Chuck off of Mondays?

if they keep it around that is

Dateline will stick around and probably take at least one slot maybe Friday and/or move to Sunday after football is done.

L&O:SVU will get renewed, it's one of NBC's highest rated shows.
L&O (original) is more iffy but will likely be renewed.
Life is probably on the bubble, leaning towards no.

I hope the news about the renewal is true.

I am not convinced Heroes is a total trainwreck.

It is not as good as season 1 but fugitives the latest volume is good.

Cutting the cast and starting afresh is the last thing they should be doing. "Hey, look everyone! A bunch of new people you don't a give shit about with either repeat powers from the old cast or new crappy ones!" (because seriously, how reasonably good powers are there?).

Dumping characters isn't the answer, fixing the ones you have is. Mohinder is far from a lost cause, Matt is getting better, Daphne is a much needed female character that isn't whiny and Tracy definitely has potential (especially with Fuller coming back). Microwave Boy is a freaking guest star, he'll be gone by the end of the season anyway. Hiro's probably the biggest liability at the moment, hopefully they'll rein him in and give him something useful to do.

Most people had found Peter to be pretty unbearable for a couple of seasons, but he's improved dramatically, so it can be done. As for Nathan, it seems obvious he's backtracking now, but I'm not sure I can see them killing him off. I think a sacrifice for setting all of this into motion would be for the best.

As for Sylar, if they can think of a good storyline for him, then keep him. If not, then I love him, but offing him would be better than dragging the show down.

Fugitives has been a big step in the right direction, and we haven't even felt the effect that Fuller's going to have on the show, so I think there's still a great chance for it to be awesome again.

If this gets picked up over Chuck, Life and FNL I will have lost faith in NBC again.

I still really enjoy Heroes but I will be fucking pissed if Chuck and FNL get's the axe to keep Heroes on the air.

that would suck but they should dump Celebrity Apprentice or that lame new cooking series the Chopping Block before they dump Chuck and FNL.

they show SNL repeats on Sundays at 7pm and 8pm so they could move Chuck and Friday Night Lights into those time slots.

"Also being factored: NBC's pilot project "Day One," about a group of survivors in the wake of a catastrophic global event. If the serialized "Day One" goes to series, having an established sci-fi drama like "Heroes" could help the new show in a few ways, including possibly airing as part of the same Monday night block."

Another show I will probably end up liking but will most likely be cancelled like Journey Man and My Own Worst Enemy.

Re: "Heroes" Renewed for a Fourth Season

I think they should tinker with the episode count. Keep Chuck and FNL on the schedule for 13 episode seasons. That still gives them room for the bullshit reality shows. This would help out the smaller shows that usually get the axe. Hell do the same to Heroes, that way the writers can tighten up the show for a solid 13 episodes and no filler to make a 22 episode season.

I think each network should do something like this.
