How I met your Mother "The Stinsons" 3/2/09

Spoiler:
Suspecting he has a secret girlfriend, the gang follows Barney when he leaves MacLaren's.

Surprised there wasn't a thread already, first new episode in over a month I think.

I could've sworn there was a new episode recently, I don't think it's been a month.

I got a kick out of the whole "Barney roots for the movie villains" bit. :)

So did I. Makes me want to rewatch Karate Kid, Terminator and Die Hard.

Good episode.

I did like the scene of Ted applying the rules of acting.

Tyler/Grant making his move on Robin

How I Met Your Mother - "The Stinsons" - 3/02/09

Fun episode but they really need to end the teases about Robin and Barney.

Liked Barney's line about child actors in the 80's:lol:

If this was the first episode I had ever watched, I would have turned it off after 5 minutes. It just seemed really awkward and not the high quality this show usually is. Even the laugh track seemed especially more obnoxious.

I think they may have been trying to spoof a typical family-oriented sitcom, but it just didn't work for me.

NPH was funny as always. Loved the Karate Kid bit.

I though the best line was Marshall's comment about Barney's race car bed.

"It handles great by the way"

I agree. But I love me some Frances Conroy.

Was that the Doogie Howser theme they played?

I really hated the stupid premise of Barney having actors portray his family for his mother.

Funniest line was when the kid mentioned dinosaur bones coming alive in a museum, and Marshall said, "Oh thanks kid, I didn't need to sleep tonight."

Agreed on both points, particularly the latter as Night at the Museum is on of my kid's favorites.

Good episode.

I got a chuckle out of the mention of both Hans Gruber and Johnny Lawrence, as both were on the Talk Show with Movie Villains on Bradley Coopers SNL episode recently.

How I Met Your Mother...FINALLY. Maybe.
Spoiler:

For once, I'm probably not jerking your chain with that title.

How I Met Your Mother co-creator Carter Bays tells me that the sitcom's central mystery is about to be solved. Or rather, resolved. At least kinda-sorta.

"At the end of the season, we will address the title of our show," reveals Bays, adding that the last four episodes will feature "big events in the lives of our characters -- specifically Ted (Josh Radnor). We're going to wrap up some things that have been left dangling."

Translation: I think the M-bomb's about to be dropped!

Bays wouldn't elaborate on the nature of the revelation (i.e. will the mom actually be ID'd?) or how it might figure into this season's cliffhanger. "But I will say at the very least that the season will end with a complete sentence," he teases. "We've left some sentence fragments dangling in past seasons, but this year, there will either be a period, a question mark or an exclamation point. We will be giving the audience that."

Is How I MET Your Mother so difficult to understand? For the life of me I can't understand why these TV gossip types are so obsessed with implying that each and every upcoming female guest star could be the mother.

By definition (show title), the show would end with them meeting. We cannot actually see the courtship because it's not How I Dated Your Mother, right?
