Where is my Fox Animation Domination?

What the hell is going on?? It's past 8:30 and there's no Simpsons, no King of the Hill?

The Simpsons seemed really short.

I bet the cut a lot from it. I think it started 40 minutes late but finished 35 late. There were long commercials too.

Nascar. I hate Nascar.

Why did it run late? Were there even more aciidents earlier? I think I saw three in 30 minutes!

Simpsons episode was decent. Loved the opening.

Re: Where is my Fox Animation Domination?

As a 20+ year NASCAR fan, I don't blame those of you who hate NASCAR. The product you see (particularly on Fox) is a pale imitation of what it could be. It's sad that the art of sportscasting in general has been on the decline, but the atrophy in the NASCAR world is particularly stunning.

I don't understand these late starts any more than the rest of you. They're idiotic. 2 of the first 3 races were impacted in some way by rain, which wouldn't have been nearly the concern it was if the events started at a more reasonable time.

So they're cutting Family Guy completely? Thanks a lot Fox.

Re: Where is my Fox Animation Domination?

Why isn't the four-and-a-half hours allotted to NASCAR enough?!?! The race coverage started at 3:30!!!!! This is going to be a mess to watch on the DVR. I added the news to my queue, but I am not able to watch it live because I have company who wanted to watch CBS' Old People Night.

They didn't show Family Guy? Well, no big loss, that episode has already aired 12 or 13 times already, I think.

Do they ever even air new Family Guys anymore? Fox Sunday is basically Adult Swim at this point. They've literally had one new episode since November.

It was slated to be a repeat. Now The Simpsons was new and I missed it using TiVo.

I guess I will have to catch it and King of the Hill via Hulu. Lame.

Why can't they move Nascar to a cable station when it runs late like that?

NASCAR sucks! Move it to TNT or CMT. The race was over a little after 8, but they had 20 extra minutes of commentary, rankings, etc.

Overall the simpsons as really funny. Tons of Ralph, and the bullies

Or move it to FX. Thats what they usually do when baseball playoff games overlap.

Re: Where is my Fox Animation Domination?

I would estimate that they don't move NASCAR to a cable station because a large percentage of NASCAR fans don't have cable.

That's BS. Hillbilllies have cable. Otherwise they'd never be able to tune in a local FOX affiliate out the the backwoods with an antenna.

Re: Where is my Fox Animation Domination?

There are a large percentage of americans that don't have cable. Why do you think the switch to digital is such a huge deal? That there's a rebate for a converter box? Because lots of people don't have cable or satellite.

it's the same for football. Here in Nashville, when the titans play on Monday Night Football, the game is shown on ABC in addition to ESPN. So those without cable can watch.

I grew up watching Nascar and enjoyed it until Nascar sold themselves as entertainment instead of a sport. The day Dale died, was pretty much the day Nascar died for me. I wasn't even a Dale fan, the sport just changed and not for the better.

The late starts I assume is because they are on the west coast. They start the races late, so all the time zones have a better viewing. More eyeballs. Some also claim, that they want it under the lights because more people like night racing.

Agree with the rain deal.

Re: Where is my Fox Animation Domination?

I'm surprised that FOX would bump "The Simpsons".

When they would do that for football, they would always bump everything else for post game gum flapping but make sure "The Simpsons" were never harmed.

Re: Where is my Fox Animation Domination?

Did anyone notice the latest King of the Hill episode (besides not being very good) seemed to be a more crude art style, more like the way they used to do it a long time ago? I also noticed the sound design wasn't very good. Seems like something changed but I have no idea. Wasn't sure where else to post this....

A large percentage of more recent fans, perhaps. Back in the day, a lot of the races would be shown on cable. In fact, I remember working for a satellite TV provider (big dish) about 15 years ago when a Talladega race was rain delayed and TNT or whoever had it didn't show the end. It was a madhouse with customers calling to complain. I believe we eventually got word that the channel lost its Ku band uplink privileges because somebody else had bought the later time period on that bird, so they couldn't uplink anything to their HQ to be distributed.
