while that's true, still risky to hand something so valuable to a guy he doesn't know just because has a chopper.

I'm getting a little sick of Jack saying some variation of "we didn't have a choice". It seems like he says it at least once an episode, and sometimes more.
Otherwise I'm really liking this season

I think last night was my official "tap out" episode. Between 'Rika's death and the "system reformat" debacle I didn't know which was worse. A freakin iPhone takes a half hour to reformat! If anything I'm glad they haven't made Renee the love interest (yet). If it wasn't for my wife loving the show I wouldn't be sitting there on Monday nights.

I'm assuming that Dubaku is essentially out of the picture for awhile and General Juma will now take over as the main villain. Next week's 2 hour episode looks really good.

There was some laughably bad stuff in last night's show (an FBI tech guy would never, ever be issued a gun - let alone wear one during the work day...even agents don't "carry" when they're doing desk duty)...but I won't say it wasn't entertaining.
Dubuku's "death" (yeah, I know he's still hanging in there) when his eyes rolled back in his head might be the most unintentionally humorous thing I've seen on 24. Give that man an Emmy!

I hope if I'm ever shot through-and-through all I will need is a commercial break and a new shirt.
Also, how big a bitch was blondie? I mean, she needed an AVI (Avion?) motherboard reconfigured in a macro uplink and he got it done in less than 6 minutes and she still upbraids him when he delivers it! "Where have you been!?"

Two moles that are lovers? Not dragging it out for another 5 episodes? ~ I thought for sure that Janice was in the stall, overheard the conversation and was preventing the format from her terminal.
Jack handing over the chip to random dude? Not dragging it out by he pilot actually getting it to FBI? ~ I thought Chloe brought her own laptop. How would a system-wide format erase her laptop?
I loved the scene with Walker & Jack at the hospital.
Seems like a nice breaking point in the season. They are still recycling too many things from previous seasons, but it's still exciting and has a fresh spin on it.

It was a very violent car crash that ended up killing both Dubaku and her.
Did you honestly expect her to survive the day? Talk about a character that was destined to die the moment she first came on screen.

I concur about the season being good, but my real let down has been the lack of intense Jack doing his interogation methods on various bad guys scenes. I know it can't be every episode, but I can't remember but one time this season.

I'd buy that explanation if it weren't for the fact that no one ever asked him what he was doing with a gun after the shooting.

Yeah, he definitely said it was hers.
Back to the car crash, I must say it was pretty well done. They never disappoint when it comes to the large action pieces. Although there was a weird cut-away, mid-flight of the SUV, where they showed Marika still pulling on the steering wheel that I think was just an error in editing.

If she extracted the contents of the flash drive directly to the FBI file server, instead of to her local workstation - but that wouldn't be the likely choice, considering why she brought her own computer.

i don't even trip over the rediculousness of some of the scenarios
at this point in the shows run...i believe the writers do this shit as a joke for the fans
i mean we've seen SD cards programmed to explode, dead people coming back to life, african gangsters who Eko killed on LOST already; we see Bill Buchanon morph into Jor-El; We seen Janeane G wearing a bright purple outfit; Jack havin a GPS chip in head (because i don't know how the hell he knows where everything is in the city)
a memory card under the skin is not a shock to me
handing off critical evidence to a random guy who just happens to have a helicopter nearby, meanwhile Jack has time to chill on the steps of the Capitol to reflect
pretty sure that next weeks 2-hr epic gonna make this week just a memory. I mean cmon Juma in the Whitehouse, lol
funny thing is that it was still a great episode

24 has become a parody of itself. But that happened a long time ago. Still, it manages to entertain me each week.

This doesn't affect this season, but some interesting news, Jon Cassar has left the show as Director/Executive Producer.
http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/02/...siello--3.html
Question: How about some 24 scoop? --Josh
Ausiello: Longtime executive producer-director Jon Cassar has left the show after failing to come to terms on a new contract. "I will not be involved with the upcoming eighth season," he tells me. "Although that's sad for me to leave after six years, it's also very exciting to be back in the marketplace working with different people and facing different challenges." (First up for Cassar is CBS' new Ed Bernero pilot, Washington Field.) His split from 24 is particularly surprising considering the close relationship he formed with Kiefer Sutherland. In fact, Sutherland himself expressed confidence that Cassar's contract negotiations would yield a positive result when I spoke to him last month. "There is no more integral part to the success of 24 than Jon Cassar, and I think [exec producers] Joel Surnow and Howard Gordon will tell you the same thing," he said. "We're a whole unit, and one part doesn't work without the other. He's also obviously one of my best friends and someone that I absolutely adore working with. I have all the faith in the world that things will work out, as they have over the last seven years." Or not!

Huh? Are you addressing me or someone else? My post has nothing to do with next week's 2 hour episode.
