When you're talking about thousands or millions of people the ends ALWAYS justify the means.
Who was Jack saving in the 20 minutes it would have taken to get Dubaku to the hospital to have the list removed there? There was no eminent threat. And the list was so important and crucial he gave to it some guy he didn't know. You look at some of the questionable things Jack has done (Season 3 is a biggie), and it's just hard to justify. Jack belongs in prison.

I'll even go a step further. Bill and Tony belong in prison for building that McGuffin that Dubaku was able to use to crash those planes. Of course, it's just a TV show.

I respectively disagree.

The techno-dialogue between Shawn and Erica was ridiculously bad.

I dunno what bothered me more: the ridiculous techno-babble or the fact that the main server room has a video feed of all the security cameras in the building but this all important room has no security cameras of its own (or at least one measly guard).

jack is going to end up saving the senator's life next week. then clarence boedecker will leave jack alone. the seize of the white house looks too farfetched. but since it's candy man doing it who knows. I don't like this president enough to care if she dies anyway, especially after her comments about jack. too bad Fox just doesn't go for broke and bring in harrison ford as president. he would give jack what he deserves. but jack giving up the chip to a random cop...whatever.

There was no reason why Jack couldn't have just taken the helicopter himself and delivered the chip personally. Why was it necessary for him to stay? ... oh right. I forgot that he had to get bitch slapped later. Or more accurately, slapped by a BITCH.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- Season 7 -- "5:00pm to 6:00pm" -- 2/23/09

It was an entertaining episode, but I had some problems with it:

1) Jack handing off the highly sensitive chip to the DC Cop. First of all, I know Jack normally has a problem with trust and why the hell would he give that chip to some random cop who he doesn't know and may or may not be comprimised.

2) Sean and Erica's nonsense techno jargon chat. Was this Brannon Braga's doing since he co-wrote this episode?

3) After Erica crashes the system, Larry and Chloe are hot on their trails, so Sean has time to start making out with Erica? If I were them, I would be hauling ass out of that room. Also, it's a highly sensitive facility, so why aren't there cameras in that room?

4) Sean's stupid plan to cover up everything was ridiculous. A GSR test on Erica's hands would have clearly shown that she didn't fire that gun. Also, a doctor would have discovered that Sean's wound was self-inflicted.

5) Dubaku is such a cold-blooded and merciless killer right? So, why does he get all scared about Jack's threat to harm his family in Sangala and reveals to him that he has a list? I thought it was a little too convenient that it just happened to be implanted in his chest.

Not every episode can be perfect, so I'm cool with overlooking these miscues since this season has been solid thus far.

I did like the chase scene with Jack and Renee in pursuit of Dubaku and finally we get a kill from Jack!!

I thought Annie Wersching was really good in this episode. Her scenes at the hospital and the anguish her character was feeling felt really real to me. Loved her confrontation with Jack and the fact that she touched a nerve mentioning Teri.

Chloe is the bomb!! Loved the fact that she outsmarted that douche bag Sean and Erica and sent the files from Dubaku's chip to a mirror site.

It was good to see Tony back even in a small capacity. I'm really looking forward to the next act of this season.

This episode I have to give a C+

However, I give Act I of Season 7 a solid B.

And yes, why the hell does President Taylor need to even speak with the Senator about Jack? After everything that he has done and the fact that he saved her husband's life, Jack should have gotten a full pardon immediately.

^ well, he had to make sure that if Dabukee woke up again he could interogate him

they didn't have the "list" at that point i don't think

Jack knew that since Dabukee was caught, there was no reason to not give up the list...He threatened the fam because he's Jack

typical 24 m.o. treat the man that saves the world like shit... Jack could have carried Mr. Taylor over his shoulder and hand delivered back to Prez unharmed and Prez mighta said thanks then called ss and said "arrest this man" thats how it goes.

I guess your right about Dubaku and his family. Not every killer can be a cold and empty soul. Hence Dubaku having the girlfriend. I do recall in Season 3, Jack threatened to expose Saunders' daughter to the virus and that caused him to surrender.

Seems like family is always a soft spot for 24 killers/terrorists.

Great great episode. Interplay between Jack and Renee is gold

This series is following the typical 24 pattern. Capture/kill a few of the bad guys, get the audience cheering, then reveal the bigger badder villians.

I'm glad Billy Walsh was caught, that was cool.

Easily one of the best episodes of 24 in a very long time.

Did anyone else feel for sure that Dubaku was going to be gone when Jack left him to go help get the dead chick out of the burning SUV?

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- Season 7 -- "5:00pm to 6:00pm" -- 2/23/09

There was some laughably bad stuff in last night's show (an FBI tech guy would never, ever be issued a gun - let alone wear one during the work day...even agents don't "carry" when they're doing desk duty)...but I won't say it wasn't entertaining.

Dubuku's "death" (yeah, I know he's still hanging in there) when his eyes rolled back in his head might be the most unintentionally humorous thing I've seen on 24. Give that man an Emmy!

It took a few episodes, but we finally got a "schematics" reference.

I agree.

My favorite was when Jack pulls the chip out of Dubaku and is passing it around still covered in the man's blood.

At least wipe the thing down before handing it to someone!

But hey, it's 24 and its entertaining!

I know that the majority of viewers wouldn't know the difference, but it wouldn't be so hard to just have somebody vet the terminology - maybe one of the writer's teenage kids have built a computer once or twice, for example.
Do hospital shows pull their medical terminology completely out of their a$$ ?

I didn't mind that Jack gave the chip to the officer because they stated that Dubaku had moles inside government agencies, not the local police department.

Me! It wasn't normal (for a 24 episode) for him to be still lying there!
