If some of you didn't already know, Jerry Springer quit the show last week to devote more time to his crap-fest talk show.

If some of you don't know who Nick Cannon is, he's married to Mariah Carey and is also an actor.

America's Got Talent has got a new host: Nick Cannon will take over as emcee from Jerry Springer when the NBC talent competition starts its fourth season this summer, according to an Associated Press report. The star of films like Drumline (2002) and Roll Bounce (2005), Cannon has also released a self-titled album and produced and hosted the popular MTV improv insult show Wild 'N Out. He is perhaps best known of late for marrying music superstar Mariah Carey last April. America's Got Talent judges Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and David Hasselhoff will remain on the series, produced by Simon Cowell.

I only remember one movie where he plays in some high school band.

He was also in the shitty remake of one of the greatest movies EVAH, Can't Buy Me Love. And one where he was an undercover cop in high school, I think.

It's probably for the best. Springer didn't really add anything as host and I think a younger host is a good contrast to the older judges panel.

This show has gone through a lot of hosts: first Regis, then Springer.

Maybe they should have hired Brian Dunkleman?
